Hi everyone.

Terl; great work back there.
Mag; very nice guide, it will help out the Guardians alot, specially those seeking a fast maso victory. I know I would of loved to see something like that when I played my first few maso's, would of saved me alot of hours of trial and error.

Well 4 Bombs for today from myself and now it's time for my beauty sleep, nite all, or good morning for most.

For Honor and Justice!

Thanks. I suppose I should stop using the subtlety warheads though as the rounds, though they all hit, seem to do little damage or have no lasting effect.

It is, indeed, very nicely done. I look forward to giving it a try.

I think you need the "armour piercing" or " high explosive" equivalents. That said, a tactical nuke might be the best bet.

Good night MC!

Good morning to those in the states!

Magnum: I'm looking forward to checking out your guide as soon as I get a chance. Thanks for posting it!

It's another busy day for me. I have to pick up my tax report from my accountant today. Apparently I owe again!

I'll pop in when I can. Have a nice day!

Good Afternoon to everyone!
Is magnu still here? I've got a quastion about that strategy! What should i do with resources, at this moment i've got 1 eco and 1 morale in same sector near Sol system , and 1 eco again in few sectors ?
Following strategy you not supposed to spent any money on military, but if i start building constructors i am going to lose some time! Am I?

Personally, I don't bother with them. I occasionally end up with some when buying starbases to increase range of transports, but just leave them as they are.

In the end, it's entirely up to you. I prefer to build the mostly useless TGs, you may prefer to use those resources on constructors - it won't make much difference in the long run as neither are really needed. I just can't be bothered with sending ships all over the place or setting rally points etc.

Good morning, Guardians! Got a couple quick questions. Regarding trade, it often seems that my AI opponents are getting significantly more from trade than I am (albeit with the same number of trade routes, and maximizing the distance). I've begun wondering if there is any benefit to sending additional freighters to the same destinations--either to update the value of the trade route or increment it? Or possibly something else (non-tech) that I am fundamentally missing regarding trade?

Also, while reviewing some maso strategies I stumbled across the fact that a survey ship can be set to "auto-survey"! My question is, how?

Hit the "A" key in your keyboard when you have select the survey ship and it will go automatically to survey.

Could be a lot of reasons - trade routes established longer (revenue increases over time), more trade enhancing techs or starting picks, just happens to be at a more lucrative part of the route when you check, incoming trade from other AIs / minors.

You can't send extra freighters to the same destination except to create an additional trade route and it's not usually worth killing an old route to get a longer one due to the revenue increasing with age.

Don't worry about what the AI's are getting, they'll get themselves into wars soon enough and lose their trade routes. Just stay out of wars yourself.

MD, when you select a ship, there are a list of options accessible by clicking the "i" button, Auto Survey is one of the choices, and quite useful. I leave the Hero set to this choice pretty much all game, after initial exploration, even after the initial anomalies have been grabbed, others will pop up later.

On the trade issue, I use the freighters early game to settle out relations if necessary, otherwise, I tend to send multiples to the furthest potential partners, my current game I think I have 5 routes to the same planet.

Developing the trade routes early in the game result in a lot of cash at the end of the game that hep you to pay for improvemnets, maintenace, military maintenance, etc.

You can also just double click on the ship to get the info window to open.

OK Greldon. Lothmorg gets the big monthly boost because he reset his score. On the first day he submitted 4*60K booms (MV value 120K). As soon as he hits a new block, all 4 of those drop into it, giving that *new* block a score (for this one) of 120K * 90% = 108K, which is added to his already formiddable total. So I'm afraid next month he'll get ~102K on the first submission of the 13th.You and I don't get this, because our new blocks are started with our original, low scoring games - worth a few K each. It all averages out in the end though, it's just Loth is submitting more 60k games per month (about 110 average), so is getting closer and closer to you. If he keeps that rate up, he'll have very close to 2 million this time next month, so that's what you'll have to aim for to keep the gold

Thanks, Magnum. That's the most comprehensive explanation about the scoring I've read in the forums. It all makes sense now. Loth will get the gold pretty soon because he's a much better player than I. I can't compete with him in regards to number of submissions. He is the man! I never expected to stay in first place forever, and I'm glad the player taking it from me is a Guardian.

We must endeavor to persevere.
For Honor and Justice!

The fact that you got there at all is a huge accomplishment, that you should be extremely proud of Greldon. If Loth takes the top spot, I doubt anyone will dispute the fact that he's earned it, but that doesn't mean he's a better player than you - just another excellent player with a very scary single-mindedness.

Once at the top, you instantly become everyone's number one target (OK, number 2 target behind the Yor for fellow Guardians). Lothmorg is "the man" at the moment, but will he sustain it beyond taking the gold, or will it be the time for Alex, Jaxom, Amulek, Tech, Aarberg, or even Renegade to become the chief hunter? Time will tell. It's going to be interesting to watch anyway.

What I find annoying is it seems to only auto survey if it knows where something is. So later in the game you have to send it off somewhere, then hit autosurvey again, and if it has seen something on its trip it heads back and gets it. Do you find the same thing? Has this been corrected in later versions? I think it should just do a full galaxy sweep if it cannot find anything to survey immediately.
