I've been thinking about trying some of them.

I have been looking at them too. Anything special you have to do to install them?

I had it explained to me twice, and I still don't get it.

Greldon I am using many of them and so far no problem, I always try to stay away for those mods that increase PQ over 30%. I know that the factor that makes a game anomalous is not the PQ but the gain of too much money in the earlier stages of the games in the first years will cause an anomalous score.

There are various type of mods, the general ones, anomalies, events, improvements, etc you must download them in your galciv/mod/data folder and if any of thiese mods has a pcx file (picture) it must be download in your Galciv/mod/gfx folder.

for invasion tactics you have to download it in the galciv/mod/data/invasion tactic folder and the same for political parties galciv/mod/data/polparties and for starbase mods the same routine galciv/mod/data/sbmodules.

Remember all your pcx pictures have to go in the GFX folder or otherwise bad things can happen my friend, real bad things!!!

Piece of cake.

Click the Download button, when prompted, choose, OPEN, which should dump the files to your Temp folder, from there, if you're running XP, choose "Extract all files", then choose the Data/Mods folder in your GalCiv Program Folder, and Voila! You may have to copy and paste the graphics files to your graphics folder, if there are any, the ReadMe's aren't necessary, though maybe handy.

I did found one Mod really helpful Ancient Political Party. It bonuses 20 diplomacy, 10 Trade and 20 Loyalty. I always play with that party, what really i find most helpful is TRADE 10%. all civ rush to you to trade and that stops them from invading you!
20 % Diplomacy means that you can easily substitude the Populist party, whos choise it is. Try this out guys! I recomend!

Thanks for the tip Athilla. I wonder if the AI will pick it as well, with the extra loyalty and all. They seem to choose the same party as I do at Maso.

#8186  by Citizen _Attila_ - 4/14/2004 5:29:41 PM

No problem, I dont know about maso, but i havent seen any civ choosing party in tough levels

Does anybody know what techs are prerequisites for the Greldonizer tech, and do “Mod Techs” show up in the tech tree?

#8191  by Citizen _Attila_ - 4/14/2004 5:44:35 PM

Yes they do show up in the tree. just before you research it would be written what are you going to get from it!

#8192  by Citizen Greldon - 4/14/2004 5:55:14 PM

Someone mentioned somehting about the Political Parties hade to be numbered in order? I opened the 2 I have and they appear as 11 and 12. I only count 8 from the original game.

Good to hear LW, i need some feedback before setting up the next version.
Tell me if you need a what-i-need-list

#8195  by Veteran Icho Tolot - 4/14/2004 6:01:05 PM

The continued numbering is not necessary! only an out of order party (not controlled by you) don't get many votes

#8196  by Citizen littlewotts_ - 4/14/2004 6:03:57 PM
