Someone asked back there 3 pages ago The Greldonizer requires Hypercomputer tech to be able to research it, the darn Drengins always beat me to it, with the exception of one game, they always get it before I do.
This is what it does
Morale bonus:50
Economic Bonus:20
Planetary Defense: 30
Ship quality:35
Resistance: 20
PQ: 10
Comes really handy at the end of the game to boost your economy and the ship qualitry for your alpha attacks, and the same time if you are a peaceful player helps your Morale and your economy.

Now I have to whack you all for learning the secrets of the Greldonizer!!!!

I always try to stay away for those mods that increase PQ over 30%. I know that the factor that makes a game anomalous is not the PQ |
|
Ummm... Sorry Renegade but this part of your statement is misleading... A civilization/empire wide PQ bonus of greater that 40% will give a stinkin zero score on submit.
And
Slayer, also a bit misleading I think... Planetary bonuses, those that require planetary improvements like soil, hab and life-seeding, do not cause a zero score. TGs, wonders, achivements and pol parties boost empire wide abilities (like PQ and Influence and...) so you need to be very careful. The effects are cumulative, thoughout the game so you must include all the possible empire-wide PQ boni when evaluating the risk of a PQ>40. This includes things already in the game like the 'Terraformer' wonder and some of the techs IIRC. You can choose not to build wonders and TGs that increase empre PQ of course, but you need to remember not to build them.
Finally, the only way to reliably determine if your PQ is over 40 is to look at your empire's PQ ability. And I've seen some mention in other threads about retiring from the game to check for a zero... It has been my experience that retiring from a game will not yeild a 0 on the summery screen. Hence you will not know you've got a zero on submit.
Just remember to stop an anomalous score make sure the AI has the ability to have access to the same mods as you have, so its even for both sides |
|
Any mod available to you is available to the AI. The question is what is how bad does the AI want it. This is actually set in the mod itself.

I have some concerns about un-certified modding....
From the Metaverse Legend page:
Important Notice: The Metaverse submits more than just your score. It also uploads game data that can be used to calculate ones score. If we believe users are modifying the game in such a way designed to artificially inflate scores, we will remove that player from the Metaverse. There will be no warnings.
Now, to test a theory in response to a question on one of the forums, I modded the english.str file directly to give certain bonuses, played through a military conquest game in about 40 minutes, got 60K and it submitted fine. Obviously, the modifications I made (since changed back to the original file) gave me a huge advantage over the AI and made the game very fast.
Is this acceptable to Stardock, and the rest of the metaverse - I wouldn't have thought so, but there was no anomalous score generated, and everything I changed would also have been available to the AI. A bit more tweaking and I could be generating 60K games in 30 minutes - is that fair?

I had in the past mods, just testing them with PQ higher than 40% and didn't get a zero score, but in the other hand I had games specially in low levels with no mods and having the AI's trade with me like crazy and me selling them techs where after the first couple of years my bc were above 100K and in each of those games I had a zero score (I did like 10 of them with zero score in each one)

Woo! 36K+ for a small crip! Thanks to some help from Mag's tips in the SH! |
|
Glad you're finding them useful.
It would be interesting to see what you get at crippling on a huge or gigantic playing the same way as you did that one GH - could you be on for the first ever non-maso 60K?

I did try to do a Gig/Tight/Rare over the weekend. Took me about 3 hours to find the Altarians, by which time the other races were surrendering to them. I was so frustrated by then that I quit the game and started over with a medium/tight/abundant. My computer is a bit too slow at Gig - especially with autosave on.
Might try a large or huge crip again sometime soon. Weyrleader turned in a 43K med crip a couple of days ago, so we know at least that much is possible...
| |
|
A huge should be able to hit 55K then. I find gigantic way too slow as well, but huge is no problem. I only autosave every 12 months, and if it wasn't for those damned fundies I wouldn't bother at all.

Hmmm,
We seem to have lost Tiber87...
Doesn't even show up in the Meta anymore...
Would have been nice if he would have at least said hi before leaving. Oh, well...

AFAIK you only get 60K games on maso. |
|
That sounds like Greldon issuing a challenge

Yes, it does...
I think I know a secret, but I need to play one to prove the theory. If it works...
