The reasons I have not is the "beta" version thing scares me. Let the people that know what there doing work out the bugs. Also Just purchased the game last month and have not even paid my credit card bill yet. Bugs me to have to fork out more money so soon. With my Canadian money had to fork over $60 and top of that was stupid enough to order the CD and got hit by customs for another $12. Had I realized that the download was so easy to save for backup I would have never ordered the CD. Live and learn. Dam goverment wants a piece of everything.

Dont be scared about about bugs, last M version is pretty good. No major bugs whatsoever, at least i havent heard! Get it ASAP its much more fan with additional two major AI! Tougher! But its still great!
One more thing exalteddruid i see you are behind me in our empires scoring, so probably i am your next target

I am breathing down your neck. I just played my 1st painful last night and with the help of magnu's maso strategy cruised to victory. They are not really clear at the AP download area to the fact that it is released. It still says pre-order.

(You have just less then doulbe my score so I guess it is more like I can feel GTR and MD breath on my neck)

Yeah 1.49 looks a bit scary, but in your place i wouldn't be discorauged, all the scoring in the metaverse, at the end of the day prety much similar!!
