Ok, Greldon. Looks like you are going to get your wish.

I'm going on vacation tomorrow afternoon for 10 whole days. Woohoo! But ... I will have my laptop with me.

Looks like you get a little breather for a week.

7 Million! That's just crazy talk.

I agree, its matter of how you like to play the game. I, personally, couldn't live without +5 PQ, but I know several members like the speed, but I feel that is something you get rather easily through research and/or tech trade.

I personnaly use speed. But when you are playing on gigantic/tight/rare, having colony ships that move 3 parsecs per turn instead of two means that you colonize systems faster and can claim more worlds before the AI.

On gigantic map the speed pick is a must. Especially with version 1.2 where the maximum points are awarded on maso gigantic map.

BOOM Yes, you heard that boom correctly. My 1st 60,000 score. Could not have done it without the support and advise of my Guardian brothers. I would also like to thank the Yor, who's willingness to die has been nothing short of extraordinary. May the remaining vapour of their worlds fill the galaxy. Thank you and good night.

Yeah right, when you get back you'll drop 80 games on me. I'm trying to hold on at least until the 13th, when you'll get your next 100K bonus. You'll leave me in the dust then.

Enjoy your vacation!

Congrats ED!! Looks like more of us Guardians are dropping 60k bombs. I'm working on another one and hopefully will finish tonight or Saturday. I bit harder then my last one and someone I'm behind in tech. I think the 3 month delay going 100% research to pump out another colony ship hurt me. I'll try not to make that mistake again.

Dull Thud

Looks like I was just a little late to get in on the 7,000,000 action!

Congratulations Guardians!

An incredible empire continues to do incredible things! I never would have dreamed we'd reach 7 million points!! And to see that many Guardian shields standing in the Top 200 is amazing!

Great job everyone on getting your first of many 60k games! Can you believe we could actually make 10,000,000 points in the near future??!!

My interview went very well! I was there for 1 hour and 20 minutes talking to them and they seemed to be interested in me. It sounds like an outstanding opportunity and just what I'm looking for. They still have several other candidates to interview so I'm not getting my hopes up, but I think I have just as good of a chance of getting the job as everyone else. They said I would hear something by the end of next week or the early part of the week after that...so now we wait.

Well, I think I'll take a look at the website and see who needs new medals before I get started with the rest of the day!

Everybody have an outstanding day!

For Honor and Justice!

Not to be an a$$ or anything, but are Mag and I going to get our rank images upgraded at the SH?

Good to hear things sound good, Theoden!

Congrats to all who've busted up into the 60kMaso world, and to all the GGs for making 7mil!

My playing is going to be severely curtailed for a while, pretty hectic workwise with summertime upon us, and after spending most of the day actually having to work with the PC, I'm not really up for playing on it too. Hopefully things will settle out a bit shortly, but I will be keeping up with the forums.

Rock on, gang!!

Galactic Guardians Awards Ceremony

The call went out to all Guardians to assemble in the Courtyard of Raven's Claw. Only very important announcements caused the Guardians to pause in their destruction of the Yor to meet like this. Guardians silently whispered to each other, hoping someone knew what the announcement might be.

Just then, Theoden strode onto the platform joined by the Guardian Conclave. The Guardians began applauding and cheering, chanting "Honor!" and "Justice!". After a few moments, Theoden raised his hand to quieten the celebration.

"Fellow Guardians, what an incredible time it is to be in this empire. We've accomplished much more than any of us could have ever dreamed! Our empire is strong and vibrant and certainly one of the most active in the Metaverse at this time. Our influence spreads far and wide and we count among our friends many strong allies."

"Our empire has surpassed the 6 million and now the 7 million point mark, each point clearly representing millions of Yor slain. We've made the Yor suffer a most terrible and agonizing fate many times and rose triumphant over all the other races. But we could not do this without the outstanding participation of every single one of you. Your efforts have shown that an empire can not only rise to the top, but be wildly successful, while continuing to maintain our close, strong friendships with each other."

"It is therefore my honor to announce that everyone in the empire will receive the 7 million point award, to honor your commitment and participation in the empire's success!"

"I also am very proud to announce that several of our friends have earned commendations. Gandalftheredskin, Major Dallas, Exalted_Druid, and bonscott have all earned The Yor Enslaver medal! Congratulations to all of you for your efforts!"

The assembly exploded in wild applause and celebration, the sound of which shook the very foundations of Raven's Claw. Every Guardian knew what an honor it was to be awarded The Yor Enslaver medal. After several minutes of loud cheering, Theoden returned to his duties, planning future attacks on Yor strongholds.

LW and Mag: You both now show up as Guardian Knights. Sorry!

#9149  by Citizen Major Dallas - 4/23/2004 10:29:36 AM

Could not have done it without the support and advise of my Guardian brothers.

Not to mention the annoying honking, beeping, and sudden appearance of still-wet-behind-the-ears galactic wayfarers showing up in your rear view mirror, eh?!

Way to go, ED! Congratulations on your 60K bomb, on making a huge jump in the Metaverse standings ("where'd he go," I asked myself when I looked for you this morning!), and looky there: you knocked Weyrleader out of the #2 spot in the AltMeta standings! Go Wingman, go!
