Ok, assuming as many people read this thread as I think I do, I will post this here. This is a GEEK TEST! I got 37% FYI. http://www.innergeek.us/geek.html Link

...popping in--

BOOM!

...and hurrying on to the next one. (Well, first I have to grill some hamburgers. Then I'll grill some more Yorians! )

And GH, don't bet on my catching you that soon. I can just feel a sermon coming on from Exalted_Druid about how I'm neglecting my family, missing some great crusing weather, and that whole routine!

Whoa Major D - that's 3 in one day. What do you think you're doing man? Carry on like that and Greldon will get all worried about his shiny medal, and double his submission rate. We've got to lull him into a false sense of security, then sneak up and pinch the gold shiny when he's not looking.

Magnum, I'm feeling very relaxed, I'm feeling very...

Hey! Wait a minute--who's the one getting lulled here!

Major, Major, Major. Do we have to have our little talk again. Look outside man. Get out and hit the open road. Smell the roses. 3 games in one day. Thats the galactic limit my friend. How is that wonderful wife of yours, and the boys. Are they feeling neglected? Time for a little family time I would think Major. Remember your motto. If Major does not play Druid stays ahead. Oops. No, thats my motto. Oh yah, Yours is, Family 1st Gal Civ 2nd.

All right, 4 in one day - and a weekday to boot!

*sigh*

Well, I moved the bar up to 67. Might let me hold on for an extra hour or two...

Oh, and ABT, if you are still here...

65 A Better Tomorrow 26 246228
66 Bakka 33 241178
67 Genghis Hank 48 224957

'neak, 'neak, 'neak...

Yeah, I'm here. If I ever get to play again, I will quickly pull away. But this month, I won't be able to play much. Just look at my submission record.

#9734  by Citizen Soul Sphere - 4/28/2004 9:21:27 PM

27.81065% - Total Geek; that was my score on the geek test

#9735  by Citizen Major Dallas - 4/28/2004 9:23:46 PM

3 games in one day.

Actually ED, that's four in one day (so far).

Grilling burgers for my wife, mother-in-law, and the boys even as i write this--I'm a multi-tasking guy, don't ya know! Then the guys are off to build extensions to the bike jump I made them over the weekend, and wifey is off to chat with mom-in-law, leaving me with nothing to do! Oh whatever shall I do? (I'm certain something will come to me.) Thanks for caring!

[Edit: I'd love to tack on that 20-game medal tonight!]

Well, my next game nets me a block change. Wonder if that will be good or bad... Someone with too much time want to run a ~59K game into my score? I will just go back to Huge/Alliance/1.49/Maso.

Can someone explain to me what is meant by a "block change" and how I can tell when one will occur? I've seen it referenced before (and now again), but have no idea what it is. (Thanks in advance.)

Oh, and BOOM!

Thanks, EE. (Now, if I still don't understand the concept of 'blocks' and 'block changes' does that make me a blockhead?!? )

One final BOOM! for the day (well, my day at least--it seems that the Metaverse went on to the next day before me).

Fun run! Got into the top 100, got promoted to Commodore, got my 15-game blue bar, and picked up my 20-game victory medal. (And mayhaps I threw a small scare into those around me!?! )

Good night all!

Incredible day MD. What have you got your game times down to. Mine about 2 hours and 15 minutes. You have to be doing better then that to post 6 games in a day. You got to sore just from sitting and clicking all day. My new theory is that 3 most important things when starting a new game are location, location and location. My one game this day is done. Night all.

#9746  by Citizen Major Dallas - 4/29/2004 4:00:43 AM

ED, I haven't timed them. Too many interruptions and what not to be accurate, anyway. But you're right--starting location is everything! I've finally gotten to the point where I can 'see' a good start vs. a bad one, so I haven't had a 'false start' all day (you know, where you get 20-30 turns in and realize it's not gonna work--at least not as a quick game).

Also, I've found that three system games go quicker than four system games, at least for me. For what it's worth.

Hiya guys.

Decided to make the Jump to AP. Well if I can ever get it. Bought Dregin.net because I was gonna spend 20 may as well spend 40 kinda thing. Can't find a place to download AP though. Kinda frustrating, since that is why I did it in the first place.

Any ideas? The chat threads on Stardock are no help either ;(

See you in the 60k range soon (I hope)

Alarac, did you subscribe to Drengin.net? That's how I got mine. If you did, you need to download and install the Stardock Central program. Then from inside that program, you will be able to download all the games from the subscription. Make sure you have the box checked to look for beta programs. If you didn't go the Drengin.net route, I'm not sure...

MD! Impressive day. Welcome to page 3! You will be past me with just 1 or 2 more games. Think the last couple of masos will be moving you into the pros for alt meta, so you will have to go up and be LW's or Naqmir's wingman now...
