Is this a new story line a repeat.

I don't think I should comment.....just thought it was ironic considering my earlier comment about what the other empires thought about the Guardians. Apparently we're held in low regard, mostly because I had the nerve to say something about someone.

I apologize to you all for creating this perception of what is truly a great empire. I’m sorry if I’ve caused any embarrassment to my fellow Guardians.

#10219 by Citizen Genghis Hank - 5/5/2004 11:29:50 PM @GH! Me too, i am desperate for my red shield! It's been so long without changes!! Just checked statbot. You still have a little ways to go. You are at 7.97 dif and you need either 8.25 or 8.5 to get a shield change. The good news is that your maso games should help that along. I amd at 8.16, but since I am playing only crip, each game moves me less

Hey GH that doesn't work to well mine's 10.00 and i haven't gotten my black yet i'm going to try and change that sometime this week with a few submits

Agree, no point turning the meta into a soap opera over it. It is totally over. Never met a human being who did not get mad once in while. Hopefully we won't have to here about it much longer. Its about the game.

Sure Greldon edit your message after I post mine. The people are what attracted me to the empire in the 1st place. As others have said, when your number one, your a target. No apolgies required, none accepted.

Diplomats have Unambiguous Communication tech, and they are not afraid to use it

Oh no, I could be in for a barrage of diplomatic motions, notes and pleadings if I’m not careful here. My apologies to you, my fine Diplomatic friend.

Now to bed, before I get myself into any more trouble. Don't want to create a diplomatic incident here.

Greldon, I think you handled the situation extremely well, and agree with others that no apology is necessary (although, in my opinion, it never hurts).

Here's a possible insight. Yesterday I "boiled over" with self-pity when I saw Lothmorg's 19 games posted and found out that there were many more coming. I had been feeling cocky about the competition, and the reality really knocked me on my butt. In retrospect, I was frustrated by others' success--again from a selfish, self-centered perspective--because it made it more difficult for me individually to be successful. I've gotten over it, but recognize that there is that "thing" inside of us that desperately wants to be #1, and he may (in part, I recognize that there are many other dynamics here!) be reacting to the amazing success of the Guardians in general, and those at the top in particular. (As you can tell, Dr. Phil I'm not!)

GH, thanks for the link to Statbot! I had noticed it (or something like it) on the Empire threads main page, but had never looked into it. Good stuff!

#10248  by Diplomat Peace Phoenix - 5/6/2004 10:26:04 AM

GH, I've read all I can find about 'blocks' and I still don't fully understand what's going on with them--but from the comments that you and littlewotts are making I'm presuming it's a good thing. I had presumed that my old submissions would devalue--thereby dropping me lower. Can you (or someone) explain what I can expect (using very small words )?

Have you cheked the metaverse scoring thread in the Help&Support thread of the Senate Halls? There is an explained real case.

Strange, I was thinking it was an Euro tactic (fleet of paperwork to fill)
