Now we have perfect job...

Well, just so you don't hate me entirely, not the perfect job. I have made the owner of the company a millionaire many times over but am subjected to his illogical, random, and mostly unprovoked explosions of anger on a weekly, sometimes daily basis; been promised an equity share in the company four times now but will never see it; and over the last year have repeatedly been denigrated for a major product face-lift that resulted in our best sales ever! (Not quite certain how to 'apologize' for that.)

The perfect wife part is completely accurate, however.

Thanks MD. I feel sorry for you, and somehow feel better at the same time. Thanks.

Still takes me just under 2 hours a game. But was 21/2 before so it is coming down. If I could just filter out the pop ups I don't need, and keep the few I do, that would save a lot of clicking.

The most helpful thing was being able to recognize a map that has chance from the start. So many times I waisted 15 minutes to discover the map was hopeless.

What I do now when I see a good map, is save and play on, if it all works out carry on. If I just miss out on a prime planet or 2 I need. I reload and go for it knowing the map. If it is completely hopeless just start over. Rarely ever have to reload though now.

I've had three centuries in the Centurion thread - that's a 100% hit rate as opposed to a 3% one....

i would like to brag that i can pull a maso win out of some pretty tight starting spots as well, let's see the worst game i ever made a victory had to be i had maybe 7 planets and got hit with 2 1000k tribute threats before the colony rush was over although i stuck with that and eventually came out (that was a looooooong time ago though before the strategy became so perfect as to not allow that to happen )

I feel sorry for you

ED, don't feel sorry for me. I have chosen to stay--my choice. I just didn't want you to think that I was living in Shangri-La! (Just on the outskirts, maybe. )

CE, those times on that size are incredible! (I still find it hard to believe--but I'm not disputing your word, I'm simply stuck in my own perceptions of 'reality') Like ED, I've been following a strategy that Magnumaniac documented for the Guardians, and been getting my time on that down as I became more and more familiar with the 'moves,' the dependencies, and so forth. (Plus I'm still figuring out aspects of the game! )

well it get's really fast when you DON'T have to think about what your doing, i find music helps with that, plus there are a few things you can do to really cut the time it takes down

I know, just kidding to, but thanks for trying to make me feel better. Guess you don't look forward to Monday's though.

I remember something about a colony ship mod 1 million max capacity with range and speed and cheap. On a huge tight abundant you could control half the galaxy in a few minutes. After boom no one else would be even close to you. Click on to 2190 and take the win. Thats from memory, so don't quote me on it.

From a page back or so....

you mean someone in the civilized world might not be watching the final episode of 'Friends'?!

BAH!! It's about time it's over. I have a real distaste for the show. Nothing against the actors/actresses, but I had to work out of town for about 6 months and only had 3 channels in my hotel room. After work, for 2-3 hours each night all that was on was 'Friends'.

What's 'Friends'? Oh wait, isn't that a TV show or something?

If it aint Star Trek... (Remember who scored 66 on the Geek test)

I see Diplomat designated D-01 has gone and changed name on us again. Now you see the good sense behind my numeric designation idea.

I think I'll call him XgE, since that's what he joined up with.

Oh there he is! Now where did Weyrleader go...?

Seems that he wants to be in our little game too.

My eyes must be playing tricks. First it looks like the Major, then Weyrleader, then Major, now some MWC dude...

Well, whoever it is in 51, I'm one spot closer...

#10319  by Citizen Genghis Hank - 5/6/2004 8:30:55 PM

Oh, and whoever comes along next to try to enter the top 50 is going to have a time of it. Spots 50-46 are all held by active players!

ED, I am currently researching Space-Time Continuum Manipulation technology, especially for you! Then the time zones will be at your mercy!
