But scared out of a hangover. I'll take your word for it.

Try skiing in Scotland! No snow, just sheet ice most of the time with gale force winds and a total whiteout more often than not.

There are some pretty good advantages to living in Canada ED.

Yes indeed, I live about 1 1/2 hour drive from Whistler. Rated one the top mountains in North America and future home of the 2010 winter olympics to boot. We have about 5 others ski hills within an hour as well.

Nice catch Attila.

Loth, you run out of games to submit? Or are you saving them for the 13th to launch a really big assault.

Well this Guardian is off to bed now - early start tomorrow. Good night all, have fun.

#10606  by Citizen _Attila_ - 5/11/2004 7:00:27 PM

Its the Yor! I told you they had found our homeworld. Times like this I wish I were a diplomat.

Mexican Air Force pilots filmed 11 unidentified flying objects in the skies over southern Campeche state, a Defense Department spokesman confirmed Tuesday.

A videotape made widely available to the news media on Tuesday shows the bright objects, some sharp points of light and others like large headlights, moving rapidly in what appears to be a late-evening sky.

The lights were filmed on March 5 by pilots using infrared equipment. They appeared to be flying at an altitude of about 3,500 meters (11,480 feet), and allegedly surrounded the Air Force jet as it conducted routine anti-drug trafficking vigilance in Campeche. Only three of the objects showed up on the plane's radar.

"Was I afraid? Yes. A little afraid because we were facing something that had never happened before," said radar operator Lt. German Marin in a taped interview made public Tuesday.

"I couldn't say what it was ... but I think they're completely real," added Lt. Mario Adrian Vazquez, the infrared equipment operator. Vazquez insisted that there was no way to alter the recorded images.

The plane's captain, Maj. Magdaleno Castanon, said the military jets chased the lights "and I believe they could feel we were pursuing them."

When the jets stopped following the objects, they disappeared, he said.

A Defense Department spokesman confirmed Tuesday that the videotape was filmed by members of the Mexican Air Force. The spokesman declined to comment further and spoke on customary condition of anonymity.

The video was first aired on national television Monday night then again at a news conference Tuesday by Jaime Maussan, a Mexican investigator who has dedicated the past 10 years to studying UFOs.

"This is historic news," Maussan told reporters. "Hundreds of videos (of UFOs) exist, but none had the backing of the armed forces of any country. ... The armed forces don't perpetuate frauds."

Maussan said Secretary of Defense Gen. Ricardo Vega Garcia gave him the video on April 22.

Good news GH there is no one really active between us so you can stop playing and let me catch up. Does that sound like a plan or what.

Hey ED! Turns out that I need a breather anyway. 'Fraid RL strikes. You and Attila come on up and fly formation for me for a little while. Besides, My score will go up all the faster when I do submit a game again.

Guardians - I may be a little scarce for a little while, but I'll still be lurking and probably posting some. Go Guardians!

#10614  by Citizen Evil Druid - 5/12/2004 4:06:03 AM

boom We have managed to hold off the Yor so far. Now that it appears the Yor have found our home world we must redouble our efforts and exterminate the vermin Guardians, never has our cause been more important to the survival of mankind. Greldonization is the only solution. For the Emperor and the Empire the real battle begins

I have a crazy idea doubt it can fly what would happwn if we can find away to unite to take down the Guardians.

Create an Empire called the United Galactic Civilization Front or whatever.

Everybody that Joins will stay loyal to your Empire.

Pirates keep this thread full of Pirate Pillage.
Canadians the thread talking about Hockey.

Any joins the Front changes their Alias to reflect the Empire they joined from and still are loyal to.

So Members can have names such as

Canadian Technician
Pirate The Renegade

etc...

Well what about it gentlemen.

Thoughts?? Here's mine.
1. If we were to do such a thing, we'd have to get a lot of peeps to sign onto the concept before we did it. And I'm not so sure some would even want to or care about first place any more.
2. The empire with the most points (oh looky here it's us) would be best to change the name and have everyone else move over to it.

P.S. Dang those Flames.

#2452 by Veteran The Renegade - 5/12/2004 6:49:05 AM

I like the idea about joininf forces with the undead. So Captain if you decide to go for it. Count on me.

#2453 by Veteran The Renegade - 5/12/2004 6:53:40 AM

We could also invite the Centurions and we could create the Imperial Trialliance of the Metaverse.

#2454 by Citizen Jackey Jackey - 5/12/2004 7:24:59 AM

I am open to the idea but I get the feeling that we would need all the active players to join to come close to challenging for 1.

Check the alt meta for the rate they are posting games.

#2455 by Veteran Technician - 5/12/2004 7:49:36 AM

Yes it have to be an all or nothing deal.

The diplomats have changed their rules basically any active player can join.

That is exactly what a Grand Alliance against Guardian domination needs.

It would seem our allies and friends are trying to form a super alliance to battle the Guardians. It would appear we really do stand alone!

In this fine company, I never feel 'alone'!

(By the way, Greldon. By my calculations, at my present rate of submission I should take over the #1 position in roughly 7.35 years--assuming of course that everyone else STOPS submitting games during that period of time. I suspect that gives me roughly the time needed to mature to the point where I could encourage others to come and take that spot from me, the way you have consistently encouraged Lothmorg! I just wanted to say, Well done! You're a class act!)

Doesn't this sound like Chancellor Palpatine talking about a Grand Army of the Republic? Good Lord, Tech's turned into a Sith Master!!!!!

Hello Guardians! Congrats to Mag for ninth place and being so close to 1 million! And great job everybody! It would now take more than the 2nd and 3rd place empires combined to pass us in the Metaverse!

Our journey to 10 million points continues. Let's keep the spirit of the Guardians alive as we share our victories! It's great that everyone has set goals for themselves and are working to achieve them! It will be a glorious day when the Guardians dominate the Top 25 board!

To all our members who are taking a small break to deal with RL, take care and best wishes! Your spot in the Guardians will be held for you until you return, though we can't promise that another Guardian won't slip past you in the standings!

Hmmm, that reminds me...I should get busy and knock a game or two out!

You just forget one thing: games aged for more than 331 days worth nothing.

Maybe I missed something, but the diplomats aren't speaking about moving to another empire

Oh, I don't think they'll be able to get an Alliance together anyway. The pirates are notorious for being independent. Everybody else would have to fly the GROSS flag before they would agree to it and I doubt you'll see many supporting that idea. Besides, as I noted it would take the entire GROSS empire, the entire Jedi empire and several other overlords to pass us in the 'verse.
