Have the Guardians split into 2 empires for 1 month.

I think having the Guardians split into two competing empires would be a great idea. Preferably as a permanent thing, when you reach ten million points.
I know this sounds like a sinister plan to destroy you, but consider: you could split into two and still possibly hold the number one and number two slots, and it would stop everyone else trying to create an artifical anti-Guardian empire.
Think of yourselves as a telephone company with a monopoly on the market being broken up by an anti-trust commission. It's an established fact of corporate life that competing firms tend to grow stronger and faster than the original.
One empire could be The Galactic Guardians, and the other could be, say, The Guardians of Earth, a band of bold superheroes, protecting their planet from evil space robots. Heck, I might even join that one myself.

I loved it. It was on MTV a long time ago, and I'm trying to find it on DVD or VHS. KNow where I might look?

Busy night Guardians - lots of points scored for the empire (about 200,000 in one day).

Greldon, looks like you get to keep it until later today - I'm sure he gets the new block with his next submission and will crack 2 million.

Lothmorg, congrats on the most games submitted in the metaverse - 378 in 91 days at an average of over 4 games per day. Awesome.

Quik, 'fraid I can't answer many of your questions as my games don't often go that long (and I don't build military), but the Terraformer adds an empire wide bonus of 10% to PQ (this is applied against the original base PQ, not the current value). With the 3 PQ enhancing planetary improvements and the terraformer you get an overall increase of 55% to planet base PQ - so a 15 becomes a 23, and a 20 becomes a 31 etc.

Well done to all the other submissions, I think Cypherpax's challenge will be met soon.

Well, AD&D as lawful evil. So it is possible

#10730  by Citizen damoose - 5/13/2004 8:21:17 AM

Well... Doesn't really matter... everyone knows true evil wares a blue face.

true evil wares a blue face

You're spreading prejudice against the many decent law-abiding members of the mutant community who just happen to have blue faces.

Boom So close GH, but you wait for me and will move to the next page together.

No problem ED. Just couldn't resist getting a little closer

On this day in history, Lothmorg the Black has surpassed The Renegade in total number of games submitted (374).

WTG Loth!

Although the idea of holding both 1 and 2 is tempting, I think we have a while before we want to break up. We are all having too much fun right now.

...It's an established fact of corporate life that competing firms tend to grow stronger and faster than the original....

I think we are OK on the competitive front right now

did a couple of 100 bc for 999999990 turns...actually like 10 of those and he still didn't turn

I've had that before too, usually at least two of them each game. Usually 1, maybe 2 offers of 1000 bc for 110 turns will do it.

Wow, a few blocks must of turned on the inactive players ahead of me cause I moved up to page 3. I feel honored to be on the same page as the great Ray the Wanderer as well as many fellow Guardians.

The Galactic Guardians are more like a galactic empire on a crusade to exterminate all cybernetic life from the galaxy. There is a subtle distinction.

But the end result is the same - the planet is protected from evil space robots, because there aren't any left to threaten it.

We just have differing views on the lengths one needs to go to in order to ensure the same end result.

Yes, maybe we should focus more on the things we have in common, such as our mutual desire not to be liquidised and spread on toast, rather than get hung up on the trivial differences between us, such as whether we're pro- or anti-genocide.

Dull Thud

Gotta go mow the lawn before the rains come. I just couldn't go out before crushing the Yor, though.

Everybody have a great day!

Nice point, Downie! It doesn't matter how we do it, as long as the Yor are defeated! Well, actually, it's still really nice to hear their cybernetic screams over the com when a Terror Star rips the planet to pieces...

For Honor and Justice!

Why do the Yor have toast, anyway? I thought they would eat batteries or power packs or something...

#10743  by Citizen Matthew Downie - 5/13/2004 1:05:42 PM

I thought they would eat batteries or power packs or something...

That's because you never took the time to learn to understand their culture. Yors are fully capable of extracting useful energy and minerals from human-style food. And they appreciate well-cooked toast as much as the next lifeform. And, if that toast is spread with the molten fat of slaughtered humans, so much the better!

Yor culture? Our researchers have been unable to determine much about Yor culture despite studying the dust trail left over from the Greldonizatin process. Just because a society exists does not mean that society should exist. It is widely accepted that the only good Yor, is a dead Yor.

Ah yes... ANother one of those 'well know' facts.

LW if there scores are restored, will we not have a lot of inactive players pass us again. It is great for the vets still active though and I have no complaint about that.

I think the recalc the Frogboy put in will take affect as the players submit their games. The inactive ones will continue to fall, but slower.
