Bah!

But you will have to wait a ways for 12000. 11200, however, is yours.

Ok, I wanna say I'm really confused about the scoring. I thought it was straight up sum of scores (minus % for oldness) divided by square root of # of games.

Why then am I only getting 2-10k per game and moving up so little despite submitting many many more 60k games than the person in front of me. Is it submitting more than one game per day that is killing me, or just do they start going down after too many games in one month?

#11205  by Citizen littlewotts_ - 5/19/2004 9:21:58 PM

There is a a crazy block thing that ages your games based on how many days old they are from your last submission. There is a thread at the Senate Halls (SH) in the Help and Support section the explains this far better than my beer/whiskey fogged brain ever will be able to.

Where's:

- 2004: Greldon becomes only the second player in Metaverse history to exceed 2M points.
- 2004: Theoden of Rohan moves up to #21 in the Metaverse, simultaneously claiming his 100 victory medal.
- 2004: littlewotts and Ghengis Hank further secure their positions on page 2.
- 2004: littlewotts, having become overly friendly with an unspecified number of bottles of Guinness mistakes post #11200 for #12000, and in a totally unrelated incident mistakes his neighbor's dog for a Yor and... (well, this part would best be left out, as there might be women and small children listening).

Well, if it weren't for the fact that I need to be up for work in 5 hourm I'd be all over that. Tomorrow night though, it's on. If you are ever out the West Michigan way, feel free to drop in. You'll find cold beer and good times at the casa de littlewotts.

#11218  by Citizen littlewotts_ - 5/19/2004 10:10:36 PM

Equal to the amount of beer I drank over the weekend. Almost.

Thanks for the congrats, everyone!

Got the email, Major. Sent reply. Thanks!

Good night littlewotts.

Congrats on the 100 victory medal, Theoden. It's good to see you enjoying the game again!

#11222  by Veteran Theoden of Rohan - 5/19/2004 11:47:15 PM

And Dull Thud makes 4 for the day!

I'm having a blast! I had so much fun in that last game...I allied with the Torians, Drath ( ) and Arceans and then worked a little deal so that the whole galaxy was at war with the Yor! I just wanted them to suffer a bit, so I invaded one system with Mass Drivers and turned it into a PQ12 ball of space dust, then abandoned the colony. I then finished the Yor off with two Terror Stars...the blasts could be heard for miles!

Okay, gotta go to bed...the wife is going to shoot me if I don't.

Nighty-night Guardians! Sleep well!

For Honor and Justice!

#11223  by Citizen quiksilverhg - 5/19/2004 11:50:59 PM

Just curious, when you guys make Terror Stars do you reuse them, i.e. take the time to move them one square at a time all the way to the next planet (even on huge) or do you just make new ones?

Also do you make 'em right where you want 'em with no objections or do they kinda know something is up?

#11224  by Citizen Greldon - 5/20/2004 12:05:06 AM

Build 'em where I use 'em. The AI doesn't care as long as you don't build any offensive modules. Sometimes I have a TS setting next to an AI star for three or four years before I actually blow up the system. That way if one of them decides they have to eliminate the Galactic Guardians, BOOM!!!
