Looks like a new AP version is out. I didn't notice right away. SDC kept crashing on download.

Congrats, GH, on the eleventy four hundredth post.

LW, have you tried lamb's blood and chicken's feet? It seems to work for me at work.

I emailed SDC and they gave me some stuff to try. So far it seems to be working. I'm downloading AP right now, but it's going slower than dial-up. It may be something to do with this alpha/beta version of SDC they gave me to test.

I did not mind this little vacation 1 bit. |

ED, now it's my turn to envy your life--welcome back! Sounds like it was a great time!

GH, those are fantastic. Even though I originally "picked up the ball," it felt like my creativity was at an all-time low and I just didn't do it justice. Thanks for running with it! (I must not understand sports very well. I thought you could only score once with a single run--but you've scored repeatedly!)
Speaking of creativity--I miss Terl! Maybe that means I need to hang out in the Halls more, or maybe it means that we need to wave the 'all clear' signal to him and try to get him back here. I, for one, found that his creativity raised the level of mine--kinda like a Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, or Magic Johnson raised the level of those who played with them. Come back to the main thread, Terl!

Well, Terl was on vaction, I bet things piled up on him at work while he was gone. Probably just buried in it right now. I've also been wondering about MC and Jeff Pinard. Haven't heard from eother of them for a while. Gandalf as well. I hope they come around soon.
On a happy side note, I have AP back!!! Yay for Stardock's amazing tech support. Gotta love those guys.

Glad to hear you got AP again, LW! WTG.

Here's a little BOOM!!! for the cause |

Ditto!

Nice little jump ED. I'll have to play a game sometime soon too, I can't seem to stay in the Top 50.
| |
|
Nothing little about that one! Way to go, ED!
Man, first that weekend and than this! Can life get better? (I hope so, for you!)
| |
|
Oh, and BOOM! (Back into #29, from which I had been momentarily bumped. Although it looks like the bigger push for me might me in the Alt Meta, where Technician is coming on strong!)

Interesting, am I better off only playing once every 3 - 4 days. |
|
Doing that will give you 9 games per 30 day block - if they are all 60K, then each block will be worth 180K before aging - average 20K per game.
Play 1 nearly every day and end up with 25 games in a block = 300K before aging - average 12K per game.
Play 2 or more per day and you could end up with 64 games in a block = 480K before aging - average 7.5K per game.
The more you play the more total points you will get, just each game will be worth less on average.
Up to you, but someone playing 25 games a month will always outscore someone playing 9 in the long run.
The best way to do it is just play when you want to, submit, and let the points take care of themselves. Works for Theoden.
Just try to avoid having a 30+ day gap, as that causes all sorts of weird score movements when games move between blocks.

I've stopped worrying about my Metaverse points. I do enjoy moving up in the Metaverse, but I think I prefer the AltMetaverse. It shows what I'm actually doing and how I'm stacking up compared to different groups. I especially like to see how I'm doing compared to the other Guardians! It's humbling to see just how staggeringly active the Galactic Guardians are every month!
Terl, glad to see you back! It sucks having to catch up on work, though. It's the worst part of vacation. It's almost like you have to suffer to go away for a while.
We went to West Virginia to see my wife's family |
|
Reeeeeeallly? What part of West-By-God did you venture into? I only live about 1-2 hours away from Bluefield, WV. (By the way, Virginians call West Virginia "West-By-God"...I'm not really sure why now. )
Everybody's doing a fantastic job lately! I need to check to see if anyone needs a new medal! I love giving em out!
