I'm happy to report the cat gondolas (litter boxes afloat) have reached shore! (the only thing ruined by the flash flood was the motor to the washer machine.)
I'm curious how you all travel with cats. When I moved from NYC to Kansas, I rented a uhaul truck, and was traveling with a cat that I kept in the cab with me. Anyway, if I let him out of the cat carrier, he always ran to the floor to the accelerator and brakes, so I had to keep him the carrier. When I stoped to eat, I would put the little box on the floor and let him out of the carrier, and hoped he knew to go while I was in the restaurant. It was a long, long trip.
Cats are cool, no fuss most of the time, easy to take care of, interesting behaviors, except when the litter boxes are floating around and breaking waves in the basement.
"when you call a dog he comes to you, when you call a cat, it takes a message, and may call you back."

Nice review Mangum!
Good to see you around Terl.
Not gonna jump into this one though, not a cat person.

Terl, welcome back! Boy did I miss you and your creativity! (I mentioned a few posts back that I find my own creativity sparked and inspired by yours. Now, that may sound like an excuse for my recent 'flatness' but it was truly meant as a compliment!) I lived in West-by God myself for a few years. I was in Fairmont, but found my way to Charleston on more than one occasion. Superb motorcycle country--hills and curves everywhere. It's said that if West-by God was pounded flat it would be bigger than Texas! (No offense, to you Texans--that's just how hilly it is.) And I think the "West-by God" must have to do with it being crafted by God's own hands. As contrasted to, say, well someplace else!
Magnum, great write-up on the review! Thank you for the time, effort, and consistency! As a newbie (still!) it's great to get a sense of the history of the game and the Metaverse--and that was just the ticket.
Oh, and I had this really cool dream last night--I dreamt that ED submitted a single game and jumped from #50 all the way to #38! Go figure!

Thank goodness it wasn't 35! |

It may interest you to know Weyrleader, that when I reached the score you currently have (490K), only a few weeks ago, it was enough to get me onto page 1 in 25th place.
Now it's still 150K short of page 1.

I just love ole Granny...she sure could do wonders with collard greens and mechanical space terrors, couldn't she?

Hmmm...speaking of which, think I'll go make a sandwich!
Have a great day everybody!

Official Galactic Guardians News Announcement
From the Office of the Emperor:
Emperor Theoden of Rohan proudly announced today that he had secured a new source of income for himself. As those who are close to the Guardian leader know, his personal life had been sidetracked by the loss of his long-time employment. However, in startling news received just moments ago, Theoden learned he had been chosen to work at the Roanoke Times, a well-respected newspaper in his hometown. This new position will start close to the same salary he had at his prior employer, which was a relief to Mrs. Theoden. Insider sources report hearing Mrs. Theoden shout for joy upon hearing of the news.
In an official statement, Theoden announced he would begin this new adventure on June 7th. He assured the Guardian empire that there would be no adverse effect on the empire. He also expressed a desire to soon return to publishing the Metaverse Review.
When asked for a quote, Theoden simply said "Today, life begins to return to normal. My long search has ended and the future stands gloriously before me."
