I think this Super-Friends website is very funny. Warning: Contains bad language, links to porn sites, etc.

I'll have to check it out when I get home.

Ah, so the bait has been taken. Now, how can he smile a dark smile with blue teath He is already half good

I've been caught "blue-handed"! Will this make me a "blue-blood"?

Dull Thud

Geez, the Dark ones are really putting in the effort! Well, it's a long month and the winner will be those who have the stamina to last the long haul (hopefully that will be the Good guys! )

It's great to see so much activity!

Question: What is the quickest way to complete a game? Do keep checking to see if you can bribe an alliance? Do play until a certain year? Do you play until a certain technology? Any, all, or is it just random?

Weyr, I'm using Magnumaniac's strategy (documented in the Maso strategy thread, over in our Senate Halls forum). As long as I am particular about the starting position (and that comes from experience) I am consistently getting 60K maso alliance victories in Jan 2190 every single game. Now that I've been doing it a while, I've got the timing down to ~1hr 15min each game (although sometimes it takes as much as 15-20 minutes to find a good starting position).

BTW, if you add in our covert support from JT and DW/MD, we have 7117104 points from 10 players. Sweet.

Should we just accept the trophy now and save you all the embarrassment?

Most of my games are done by 2200.I follow a research pattern that allows me to get most of the wonders before the AI.Basically just try to get all the wonders you can bribe for an alliance and see if its a 60k. If its not you can go back and build a whole lot of AMM to boost your military rating which should give you a 60k.

Hey, hey, hey! No offense to Matthew Downie, but there is an implied Galactic Guardians trademark on that 'MD' moniker! Don't make me get my lawyer after you! (We're talking a whole new dimension of evil here!)

Hmmm, I wonder if I could bribe your lawyer with an Altarian slave girl. Maybe she could be taught how to do the laundry?

Oh man! You go straight for the jugular, don't you?! We've got four boys and she would kill for an Altarian slave girl to help with the laundry! (You guys are good! I mean evil! Good-evil? Oh, you know what I mean!)

If that didn't work, there was always foot rubs!

For some reason (go figure) this talk about Altarian slave girls reminded me of 'Abbott and Costello Go to Mars'. They end up on a planet inhabited entirely of Amazonian women who intend to kill the two men for having impure thoughts. To prove that they don't they get three balloons, one of which will pop each time the one holding the balloons has an impure thought. Lou Costello begins holding the balloons, but two of the three pop almost immediately!

So, Altarian slave girl, yes. Impure-thought-detecting-balloons, no!

Loth, I don't remember much of the rest of that movie, but that one scene has kept me laughing for years!

I don't get to see much of the older shows anymore.
Abbott and Costello, Three Stooges, Little Rascals. All greats.

Similar to what I do, but I build military, but never use it. I hate paying bribes. I do the normal rush stuff, build a few whatevers to grab the close resources, then research the basics and corvetts. Then I buld corvetts and research until the Torians, usually, give me battle ships or Dreadnaughts. At Dreadnaught I switch over to antimatter missles. After the basics are researched I add production building. I never get wonders or tradgoods, except for harmony crystals and virual reality modules and maybe a few other. The rest of the trade goods I get through trading. Usually around 2200 as well, all the AI that are left (sometimes 7, sometime only 3) are all ready to either ally or be bribed to do so. My research plan after the initial basics is just the shortest months left, no particular order. And trade like mad with the minors. Rarely trade with the AIs except when they want to trade something with me.

Oh, I build freighters as soon as possible as start trading. By the time I finish the game, I usually have 40K-60K in BCs.

You noticed that I have a wounded in action medal - not too many are willing to get those

True. While I have great respect for the war wounded who survive, the first rule in my line of work is "Don't get caught". So I tend to stay away from wars and rely on sneaky trade and culture bombs. Not a fast way to win, but neither speed or points are a priority with me. The goal is to get the job done and be able to enjoy your work.

Speaking of blue faces, I have been trying to get rid of mine. Looks like it could be a bit of a task. Good Gerakken went on quite a spree with his loot and perhaps was a bit too generous in dealing with the aliens. Apparently, good pirates are treated nice, but got no street cred. Looks like boiling some Torians in oil and converting administrator Yor into vending machines if not scrap earns you some dislike, but a lot more respect!

(Note: I cannot be swayed by your Dark Side tricks to join your foul plot, Gaurdians of Doom. I am a pirate through and through. Just one that is having a mid-career alignment crisis at the moment and talks a lot at the bar while downing those Torian Tornadoes in the Claw.)

Yeah, everyone wants to be bad. Only a select few can achieve it, though.

It's the chicks, huh? They dig a bad boy.

Keep giving the AI stuff to keep at least one of them going until Jan 2190, then wipe them out (or create the alliance).

The artificial score doubling process at Jan 2190 is a real pain as most of my games are in the bag by 2182, and it's just a process of clicking turn 90-odd times. Sometimes I have to give the last AI planets every few months to stop them flipping into oblivion.

They do!
Hey Magnu, come here. I want to show you something ...

I'm working on it. Had to change my strategy to get Pure Evil each time - now playing large abundants.

Shame I played all those games at neutral - it's really making it hard to shift the alignment. I now have more PE games than any other (56PE, 44CE, 38N, 15CG, 3PG), but still only a CE smilie and a morality rating of 3.87, so it's going to be a long haul to licorice tasting time.
