Its just harder to flip with AP

So its cheaper vapourize then flip by the sounds of it.
That is my usual method anyway, if enemy fleet purchase cannot work.

I do not have AP. I am going to have lunch and then if I can find time a game of galciv.

@Loopcub & Naqmir.... A military victory scores pretty much the same whether you culture flip, invade, or TS the enemy systems. TS requires you have at least 5000bc per enemy system to build the TS's. I have done a TS alpha strike on 31 systems simultaneously (my first ever 60K game), so it can be done.

@ED.... There was what basically amounted to a bug in pre-AP Galciv, where having multiple culture bases in a sector caused your total infulence to be (Culture of base 1) * (Culture of base 2) * (Culture of base 3) etc. In AP they have sorted it so that it is (Culture of base 1) + (Culture of base 2) + (Culture of base 3) etc, which is probably what it should have been from the start.

computer will get the diplomatic translator and be way ahead of me in the tech tree

Loopcup, don't worry too much about the trade goods, you can always trade for them later. It is the wonders that the AI keeps beating me to and when gone, they are gone forever.

This is genrally what I do. Although, The planet count is lower as I end up flipping planets as I build up the cash, or get the TSs built.

I don't even build ships until I want to build the TS. I then build 5, fleet them and send them off. When I have them all waiting, I build the TS's in one turn, and on the next turn - space dust. No flipping allowed

I use the same reciepe. Send them all to one rally point for terror distribution through out the galaxy.

I flip to keep costs down.

Oh, so true!

#13159  by Citizen littlewotts_ - 6/7/2004 6:47:10 PM

I haven't even figured out how to use rally points.

#13160  by Citizen Lothmorg the Black - 6/7/2004 6:47:52 PM

It's pretty simple. Plop one down and click on it to set its function.

#13161  by Citizen Magnumaniac - 6/7/2004 6:48:06 PM

I still prefer "buy fleet for x over 99 turns, alpha invasion immediately, and only pay x for 1 turn" got to be the cheapest way now that culture modules on SBs cost money.

#13162  by Citizen littlewotts_ - 6/7/2004 6:49:57 PM

pay x for 1 turn

I have to keep paying.

Plop one down

Yeah, that's thpart I'm talking about. I guess I need to read my hotkeys.

Make sure you don't make the deal for more than 99 turns - something in the code, I think it probably just deducts 100 turns from all trbute payments when a race ceases to exist.

I'll give that a try.

I just had a weird event. The Fundies came and took everything, except Sol. Every single planet in the entire universe - theirs.

I won anyway.

And the best way to set them is get the planets list on the left side and move sort to rally point Then click each planet and it brings up rally menu for each. Very quick and time saving.

I won anyway
How. I believe you cannot ally when there is just 2 correct. Then you'd have to wipe them out

No, you can ally when there is only one other race left - but that's not the point here. If the fundies take every planet in the galaxy except Sol, then you are the last major race left with control over a planet - so you win a military victory. Remember, the fundies only count as a minor.

Good evening Lads!
Just came back from work... i already forgotten how to work after 2 weeks off!

more than 99 turns

How to offer X in 99 turns? is it to offer X in 50 turns and then X in 49turns, coz i only have 50 turns in my games!
But then again if you offer X twice its not going to be paid in 99 turns its just gonna be 2X for 49 turns and X for 1 turn!
@Loopcub try to play rare games, no AI will have more than 10 star systems! unless there are the only AI left in the universe!

rally point

me too never used one of those...
And about building TS, i just build 5 or 6 constractors on one Star System and send then send them to the enemies SS... You might ask why do i need 6 constractor, I am using mod called Red Star IV its an addition defence points To TS(adds 70). which is basicaly more than enough to protect itself, if you want to reuse your TS and dont have enough cash...

the fundies only count as a minor

thats why i love them...

Just started this new game in the middle of the universe, starting planet 22PQ in the next sector star system with 2 planets 16 and 20, after occupation became 17PQ and 23PQ(7% increase event, dodgy but still helpfull).
And there was another planet near by, the only problem i am having now no contacts with any AIs...
so far i love Sneaky Diplomats party!
Ough and more question you people check on the AI parties?

Goodnight Guardians (of all persuasions).
