My strategy concerning number of planets is get 3 to 5 prime systems. If any have 2 planets I hold back colonizing the 2nd as well as maybe marking a few 14 for future expansion.
When my economy is in a 100 spending and in surplus and I reach a time when I am dumping 100% into social for rush TG or wonder I take the 2nd planet or 14. They quickly come on line and become an asset.
The key to this stategy is taking your extra planets at the right time. The amazing thing is they end up finishing my social project list within a few months of my top planets so they slow me down very little.
This way I get my good start with a few planets early and I get the huge econmy in the later game.

GSE, I try to get it every game. Get it 75 % of the time. If someone gets it before I even start building it I let it go. Does not kill me if I don't get it.
So as soon as I start building it I save game called GSE. I save almost every turn to GSE. If someone beats me to it I load my last save rush buy on the long payment plan. I have missed it so many times with 1 or 2 turns left and get nothing for my efforts I use this system to guarantee my success.

I think that the succession game would be great starting in July after our intersibling rivalry is over and the GoJ have defeated the GoD
On the other hand, I strongly encourage the GoD to join the succession game and show us how you do 10 games a day and still bring home a paycheck.
BTW, isn't one of the requirements of a succession game is that you cannot submit a regular game

Weyr, thanks for the congrats. Hoping to kick up to #15 this weekend--that's if I can keep everyone that's climbing up behind me so fast from climbing right up my back!
Spring is ending and summer is trying to kick in. (Cloudy and rainy today, though.)
I got a little 'burned out' on the negative banter between good and evil Guardians. (It wasn't bothering them but it was bothering me, so I thought I'd better 'tune it out' for a bit.) Still checking in every now and then (forums) and still submitting as many games as I can manage for the GoJ!
How are things back East?

I vote "Attila" as apposed to Attila" but can you do Attila_. You cannot see an underscore at all on the name board.
Hey MD. I thought that was why you had not been around. I think that was a first week thing. Everything has died down now except Loth's submission rate. Our brothers have been beating us with submisions not words. May have been better idea to run the contest a week or two only maybe.
