Good morning Guardians.
Lothmorg is tired.
I think I will relax for a while and set my GalCiv aside for now. I might get a couple games in here and there, perhaps on the weekends.
Maybe I'll become more active once someone threatens my position ... or maybe I'll give it to them - we'll see.

Hey Loth!
No sweat with the break. I have been thinking that I will probably remain at my reduced level myself. Just hope you will still come by and hang out with us in the Claw. Wouldn't be the same without you.
| |
|
Oh yeah. No way I would miss out on the claw.

Loth, I'll miss your activity in the Meta but I look forward to your forthcoming (hint, hint) review of Thief: Dark Shadows. (Or am I remembering incorrectly? I know that it was one of the games I've asked for for Father's Day.)
| |
|
Oh, and Loth, just so that I'm the first one in line, if you want someone to 'watch over your points' for you, well, I'd be glad to help out a Brother!
| |
|
Yes, Thief: Dark Shadows is very cool.
If you enjoyed the first one, you will like this one as well. The AI is much better, and the interface is smoother. The act of lockpicking is revamped as well; you have to actually jimmy the locks and access each "level" of the locks.
Fighting doesn't automatically mean a death sentence either. Forget the sword though. Thieves wouldn't be caught dead with such a huge weapon. You do have a dagger to go along with all your other instruments of death.
I was a huge fan of Thief 1. Wasn't too impressed with Thief 2, but Thief 3 gets it just about right.

Yeah, I got this nice shiny just waiting for you.
You just have to come up here and take it.

Doubt I'll ever make it to those lofty heights--but then, I doubted I'd be where I am, as well.
Loth, I'm presuming that you're playing Dark Shadows on a PC and not on an XBox. There've been lots of complaints about it being 'dumbed down' for the XBox--any thoughts?
| |
|
|
It's an electronic gadget you play Halo on with up to 3 of your 4 gun-totin', alien-bashin', adrenaline-pumpin' sons at a time. ("Hi, my name is David and I occasionally play XBox." "Hi, David.")
| |
|
No thanks. I have multiple computers to do the same thing. And I don't have to worry about yanking the dang thing across the room.

I hope it's not contagious.
(I'm a die hard PC boy)

Ditto!

When you have kids you have to have mulitpul platforms to play on. Just so you get a chance to play on something. |

My Computer
My Wife's Computer
My Laptop (x2)
My Server
My Spare Computer
My Linux box
I'm ok for a while I think.

Hey all! I've been a little busy this week. I've moved Loth and Mag back to Knight status. I'll get a game this weekend. Although KOTOR is really drawing me in.

OK, so here's my list (in contrast to Loth's):
My computer
My oldest son's college laptop
The XBox (sorry for using 4-letter words, guys!)
With 5 avid, testosterone-charged, gaming fanatics to share them! And here's the kicker: we celebrated Father's Day tonight, as the wife and boys are headed up to the San Juan Islands for the weekend (a tug boat ride in and around the islands for the weekend). So the twins gave me Thief: Dark Shadows and Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow--both for the XBox! (This weekend may be the only chance I ever have to play them myself!)

ROFLMAO!!! Isn't always that way when you get games for a gift?

Well, replace the Linux box with a kids PC and X-box, and that's what I have available too. Why do we need 2 laptops?

That IS funny. One is for GalCiv, the other my wife uses to watch movies on. The living room TV seems to play nothing but Jay Jay the Jet Plane recently.
