I hope y'all don't mind me posting but I read your (The GG) thread more than any other (my Empire is threadless).

The Renegade matter comes down to "intent". If he intended to use an uncertified (i.e. illegal) mod for 1 turn or all but 1 turn in a game then the game should not have been posted in the public Metaverse. If it was a private game this is a non-issue but once it was submitted to the Metaverse that changes.

Changing either the name and/or contents of a political party at anytime during the game also compromises the integrity of the game.

Holes in the code or process do not constitute acceptance by the programmers, designers, or game theorists of Gal Civ.

I won't argue the semantics (meanings of words) but the actions wouldn't fit my definition of "honor".

In Renegade's defense, his non-score efforts in the Forums and such earned him the "Veteran" title which speaks well for him. Also, he "came clean" by honestly explaining what he did which, in turn, will help fix/tighten the game. I do not pretend to judge nor am I qualified to judge but I feel that these items should help balance things.

Yes, but when you look at the "horrifying" image, I am not sure if that is Dr. Damoose or Mrs. Dr. Damoose, as there are not antlers. So it is either she or he with his antlers battered off.

Well, I don't know about that... more like 'stayed alive long enough to bribe everyone into an alliance'

I seem to be running into a bad economy crunch in early-mid game that the AI uses to rocket past me in pretty much everything, even if I've managed to snatch up more planets than them. In my last game I was thinking of invading the Altarians until I noticed that their paladins had more than twice the stats of mine

Kitantho, if you go for the alliace victory, I find it better to limit myself to 3 or 4 star systems. When I get more than 4 I find that my early economy bogs down because of all the builidng going on. With fewer to start with, the 1000 bcs last longer and build more quicker

Would that be true for a military victory also? I only settled on alliance my past two games because I was lagging so badly everywhere that a military conquest would have been a painful experience.

The start is so important, so I would say yes. One of my tricks is to get my 3 or 4 early and hold back taking any 2nd planets in a system or 14 pq which the AI's won't touch. Once my economy is booming I snactch my secondary planets for extra late game prodution. This technique gives you a good start early and huge production late.
