Hey, anyone notice MoseyingAlong? He is just about to enter the top 100!

Nice move, my brother barbarian! One or two more should put you ahead of me.

|
What happened with you, mate?! You just played 7 games this month! I am worried! |
|
RL stuff, work got busy, and a little burnout. I am probably going to stay at just a couple of games a week for a while to keep the game interesting. I still plan to be here at the Claw whenever I can, though.

Well, Slothrop played 13 in one day once.Yes, but they weren't military victory at gigantic maso with 1.13 as Loth. |
|
Actually, I did get a military victory only once using the Amulek technique. But that was because all of my opponents went fundamentalist, or something like that, and I had an sudden and unexpected victory. This is probably a bug in the game though...

Good morning Attila. I am off to work. Have to go make a presentation at DARPA this morning on some neat stuff on unmanned autonomous vehicles. |
|
In a past life, I worked on DARPA's first autonomous land vehicle (ALV) project. The main contractor at that time was Martin Marietta. The vehicle itself was bigger than a tank and we had to have a microwave link to connect to the mainframes that did the image processing.... Heheheh. Those were the days.

I was a program manager at DARPA in 1985-1987 for advanced networking, distributed processing system, new OS, such as Mach (funded Rich Rashid who now leads the Microsoft R&D group), distributed sensor networks, etc. The AI guys were Bob (forgot last name, but he is a Georgia Tech right now), Rosenfeld, and another.
Yes, those were interesting days. If you want to see what DARPA is doing now, take a gander at the galary of pictures for the J-UCAV program at www.darpa.mil and look in the J-UCAV program office. The systems to look for a the 45 and 47. Similar in look to the GalCiv corvette.

I'll take that as a complement. Thanks WL

Pretty cool. Small world. I did one of the first ports of Mach to the 680x0. Later, I ran the platforms division for a large UNIX company that was looking at OSF/1, which was build on the back of Mach.
The ALV I worked on in 1984 is: Link
This picture is misleading. They didn't show the guy with the idiot button to stop the ALV in its tracks (when the vision algorithms failed - the d*mn thing was always trying to drive up telephone poles, etc.).
