Everyone would be in love with me!

I think that was even more pathetic than the Itsy Bitsy Spider bit.
Congrats on #15000 LW and Guardians alike.

I HAD to find something that could come close to that, and that's all I could think of.

He means 10 blocks with one empty would be treated as 9 blocks, none of them empty. |
|
Do you mean that a first block splitting is made. If one block is empty, another block splitting should appears with other definition for blocks?
Could you please detail it more with an example?

I think what their trying to say is that suppose youve been playing for ten months and your submition rate looked like this.19,28,15,52,5,26,35,0,17,4.Instead of your score being determined off this you would determine it off every month except the one that you sumbitted 0 games in.So these would be how it would look like.19,28,15,52,5,26,35,17,4.Even though you've been playing for ten months and should have ten blocks the meta only records nine for scoreing because one of them is blank. If two were blank it would only record 8 blocks and so on.I hope that makes sense and doesnt confuse you more.

|
Or to try another way - just to confuse the issue ...
If block 2 is empty, then
treat block 3 as block 2
block 4 as block 3
block 5 as block 4
and so on...

Well, that should be remembered for a while, you wiener!

Well, blocks are used for 2 things:
- determine the aging
- divide the total points by the square root of the number of game in it.
So if i undertsand correctly, you propose to change the aging, right?
For reminder, if you have N games scoring each 60K evenly distributed in time and if no aging is to be taken in accout, we have:
- for all games in the same block, a score of 60K*sqrt(N)
- for all games in 2 blocks, 2*60K*sqrt(N/2) = 60K*sqrt(N)*sqrt(2)
- for all games in 3 blocks, 3*60K*sqrt(N/3) = 60K*sqrt(N)*sqrt(3)
As you can see, for a same number of games, having them spread on 2 blocks is better, scorewise, than having them in the same block. It is what happen when block became empty. The problem isn't the block. It is the fact that games that were previously on 2 blocks ar now in the same, leading to a loss in the score.

Paguma is losing points now as well. Just lost 50K when he posted last.
I have a block or two that has 2 week gaps and 1 or 2 games then another 2 week gap. This hasn't hurt me too bad. My regular submission rate has remained at about 3-4 per week for a long time.

I have read that. But I have a big problem with his score: I don't seem to be able to obtain his score. Something is strange.
If I use the formulas I know, I get 739K points for 07/20/04 and 762K for 07/25/04.
If instead of 70 days block after days 150, I use 210 days blocks, I get 680K for 07/20/04 and 698K (quite close to his current score) or 07/25/04. But this seems very strange

My condolences on you loss, Wehr.

Must go to a memorial service in California for a nephew who died suddenly in his sleep a few days ago. |
|
My respects as well. Let us know if you need any one to talk to, or if we can help in any way.
