Well, I got a rude awakening this morning. A large chunk of ice that was hanging from my eaves outside my bedroom fell down. This wouldn't have roused me from my pleasant slumber, but it ripped the eaves down in the process. Then the ice slid down the siding (2 story house), creating a most awful racket. This ice chunk was about 16ft long and 8-10in thick. I bet it weighed close to 250lbs, maybe as much as 350. My grill was destroyed in the process too.
Oh well. I'll have to see if my insurance company will cover any of it.

A bit of a story for you....
The Lady Aljathea was alone in her tent. She had left strict orders with the guards that she was not to be disturbed. She had much to think about, a great deal to plan, and she must try to discover what plans her god had set forth for her. Long had Aljathea served the Lord of Earth and Fire; his pathways were hers. Deep in her meditation she shuddered abruptly. Something had happened, that she could feel. From the depths of her mind and soul she reached out to her God in an attempt to discern what had upset him so and to divine where next she should go.
"I am here my child", she heard within her heart. "My messenger has been slain. I have tried to intervene in the events that unfold as we speak, and sent him forth to bring the boy to you. I have assurances from her who drew the paths that our old allegiance shall not fail. The power I have given you, call upon it now. "
"I fail to understand thee, Lord. Tell me, what is it I should know?" she intoned lowly, still deep in her meditative trance.
"Ah, my dear child, there is so much you do not know and only a small portion may I tell thee. Suffice it to say, there were grievances, alliances, disagreements far in the past. I can but tell you that what you see before you now is more than meets the eye. The Lady of the Night is wise and farseeing. The paths have been set, all is as it should be, the quest is yours to win! Be cautious though, for he who calls himself Master of Darkness will set obstacles before thee, though they may not directly harm thee. Go with courage my servant. Bring victory and praise to me!"
"I shall win the day for thee m'lord," she spoke softly. She lifted her head slightly still bowed at the altar. Then she rose and paced quietly in her tent thinking and rethinking the plans she had set. Her cousin Eodric was involved, that she had known. How deeply she hated him and everything he did. "He must have bound himself to Darkness, the fool[/I], she thought to herself, "that would indeed explain what's happening.[/I]
"Have you word? Has the boy arrived yet?" she asked.
"Not yet m'lady. I shall call when they arrive," he answered.
=========
Eodric, Fredric, and Erdwyn sat at a large table with Grymdark and Greld. They waited for Paderic, the priest of Darkness, who when he finally walked in was looking shaken and disturbed.
Eodric turned to him, "Well, what of your prayer, your searching? You claimed to need time. I have given that. Now speak!"
"Forgive me sire if I've taken too long," the priest bowed low and continued "I have the answers you seek, for Darkness has revealed what he desired. He has said that none will interfere further. He fears not the ends that have been colored nor dangers upon the ways."
"Who shall not interfere in our plans?" demanded Fredric earnestly.
"The Lord of Earth and Fire, m'lord, whose emissary has been slain. This quest, sire, this fight we are in, t'is between the Lady and Darkness. Destiny's paths are drawn; he advised we remain cautious. He said one last thing sire, yet I fear to speak it before thee."
Erdwyn stood quickly, pointed at Paderic, and almost shouted at him, "You dare to speak so to your king? I should strike you where you stand!" Eodric motioned him to sit.
Smiling at the cleric he said softly, "What is this thing you fear to speak? Tell us?
The priest looked at him and, after coughing slightly to clear his dry throat, said lowly, "Not to fail, sire, he warned not to fail."
The brothers, Grymdark, and Greld eyed each other, avoiding Eodric's glance, though Eodric laughed raucously. They joined in, but stopped when he did and listened as he swore, "And when have I failed my Master? I have done all that he asked and so now shall I do. Get out, go back to your temple, prepare for what comes." He waved dismissively to the cleric who bustled out of the room.
"As for you Greld," Eodric said as he pointed to the wizard. "Where is this cub, this child who would destroy me? Have you yet located this fool?"
"The messengers, the Shroudguard, have brought word to me. The lad is being taken to the Lady Aljathea, sire. And my liege, the Shroudguard have said they must leave, for their lord has beckoned them to return. They can help us no more."
Grymdark said carefully, "Eodric, I warned you before. Aljathea, though your cousin, is a threat to us and to our ways. With the Shroudguard having taken leave, we must send a small party of scouts to determine how best to deal with her."
Eodric paced around the table, his finger stroking his beard, as he pondered the problem before them. He pointed suddenly at Fredric and Erdwyn. "You! You two! Prepare to leave at once. I trust this to no others but to you. Find her and find what we needs do to defeat her and take care of the child. Curse the Light; we shall win!"
=====
The guard opened the flap to Aljathea's tent and called softly, "They are here m'lady. Do you wish them to be brought to you now or shall they await until the morn?"
Aljathea called back, "Call them hither; Kelten, Orion, and the boy. I wish to speak with them now." She quickly readied herself and waited for their arrival.
Orion entered first and greeted the lady. He was followed by Kelten and Dorian. Orion introduced Dorian and quickly related to Aljathea the details of their travels. She asked few questions and after hearing Orion's report she sighed and said, "I thank you for your service dear Orion. And Kelten, you are always ready when called upon. Dorian. We must now talk. Orion, Kelten please be so kind as to leave us for a while. I have much to discuss with the boy."
Dorian sputtered, as Orion and Kelten left the tent, "I'm no boy! I am a man! I wish to know what in the name of Light is going on! I was merely in search of work when I was attacked and whisked away. This is too..."
Aljathea interrupted Dorian firmly yet gently. "I will explain, yet you must give me leave to do so." Dorian mumbled his agreement and sat upon the pillows as Aljathea swept her hand toward them, beckoning him to sit. "You are special, dear lad, for your path has been specially chosen and prepared by Destiny. The end of this path is decided by the Lady but the goals at the end are achieved by you."
Dorian fidgeted as he became upset. "So, I am but a pawn? A tool to use and discard? This makes no sense and t'is not fair. My end is already written? Tell me, shall I win or die on the blades of enemies?"
Aljathea laughed softly. "No, Dorian, you are no tool, no pawn, nor has your victory or death been pre-written. Each of us has within us a destiny. Some may be greater than others, some lesser, yet we all must rise to meet these challenges and attain the goals. At the end of these roads lay the rewards. The end is decided by the Lady yet the rewards are won by your efforts."
With a dawning of understanding, Dorian then asked, "This path of which you speak, where does it lead?"
The lady shifted and asked Dorian, "Know you a king called Eodric?"
Dorian's face flushed with anger quickly as he spat, "Light save me! That foul, evil, work of Darkness? Yes, I know of him. T'is him and his mangy brothers that killed half of my village! If but I could find him, I'd as surely kill him and free the people of these lands."
Aljathea smiled, patted Dorian upon the knee, and said, "Not all know see their path this clearly. The end lies before you, Dorian. Dare you go down the road to your destiny?"
Dorian stood and asked with determination, "What shall I do first?"
Aljathea called Orion and Kelten. As they entered the tent, she said quickly to them, "He is ready. Begin training tomorrow; I fear he has much to learn."

I tried resubmitting my game, but it still hasn't posted. This happend after I updated to 1.19, but the 1.2 patch fixed it. Darn it...

WooHoo!!! I use a firewall router here at home, and I was thinking it might have been the culprit in my submission problems. I set my machine to be the DMZ server and tried to submit. And it worked!!
Now that I've got that fixed, I'll feel better about playing more games. I didn't want to before because I couldn't get them in.
