I would have suggested someone spam the page, but that draw too much ire. And it might have entinced a few people to continue. It's fun once in a while, when it's done with taste, but constant senseless posting is irratating.

This "war" is a friendly competition and also hopefuly has revitalized a bit of the metaverse.

Quiet comes to the Meta as the empires fade away and few remaining quibble over the last few who haven't chosen to join and empire, but to remain as an independant. Almost no posts about GalCiv game issues anymore. All activity taking place in the side forums called the Empire forum that few visit and those that do find few active threads. A new visitor to this galaxy might wonder what beaurocratic waste when all could take place in one main forum. History shows that perhaps it was crowed then and active threads would disappear off the front page while still in active discussion. The fight over new recruits was not limited to a few threads, but permeated all threads where an independant might post or an active game player might be recognized. No one wanted the non player or the non poster.

Now, quite. A chance to reflect and wonder if it could have been done better. Perhaps another day. But, people being who they are, likely will repeat the errors of the past. That what they know what to do.
