Well, I removed the Icho Evil Pack and evrything played as a normal game. When I loaded the Icho Evil pack, I did not use GalCiv Writer to reorder the starbases since I don't use them. But the AI do. I wonder if that could be the cause of the extraordinar PQ planets? I also did not reorder the Techs, since most of them I never get far enough in the game to use.
I will reinstall the Icho Evil Pack. Play (or at least start) a game and verify that I get PQ 40 Earth. Then I will reorder the Starbases and Techs and see if that fixes the problem.

Oh, delightful. I got my black shield. Look how nice it looks next to my chaotic blue face!

My difficulty is still 9.39 on the AltMeta, but it hasn't updated, so I am not sure when it turned, probably at 9.4.

The Evil Pack contains nothing that could iniciate such an error. During the tests there never was such an error.
And I do not know a mod that could, conflictwise, do that.

BOOM! with the Evil pack reinstalled after sorting the SB and Tech numbers. Problem still there, but this time Earth did not immediately change PQ, although ultimately it did more than it should have, but two other Start systems bumped up to PQ 38 within 5 turns.

I agree with Icho, after looking at the mods I don't know why, but when I take the mod out, I get normal games.

Dunno about Weyrlands setup, but I (and half a dozen testers) never had such problems (I played about 10 games with it)

I agree with Icho somewhat in that when I look at the mods, any mod, I am not sure how they could affect the game in the way I am affected. I have uninstalled, erased all files, and reinstalled GalCiv AP, since that is what I play. I also reinstalled GalCiv itself, both on a new hard disk from where they were.

But, the effect I see started when I loaded the Evil mod and disappear when I turn the mods off and when I remove the mod but leave mods enabled. When I reinstalled the mod, I get essentially the same type of effect. Most often it affects Earth, but I have played several games when it affected othre star systems. I have also seeen the PQ go down by 2-5 points and the a few turns latter it is back up to where it was. Most ofetn the initial PQ boost is to PQ 40 for a planet, but sometime it only gets to 38.

I will start another game and let you know. Then I will turn mods off and try again.

Did you try the Evil pack without others (may be a conflict withanother mod you use)?

Ther is an unproven rumor (only happend once) about a conflict with the Grandolizer

I'm currently relooking he files and found that it looksile I did, acidenatlly not submit the very last version (but that were only spelling changes)

Well, I started another game, no changes. While adjusting the sliders, the starting PQ for Earth changed from 22 to 40.

Started a another game with Earth starting at PQ 18. After adjusting sliders for Income Distribution, the PQ changed from 18 to 38. Normally the spending distribution for a normal game is 19 or so for Military spending to build colonizer ships. In this case and the previous one, spending was 56 for Maintenance, but nothing had been built.

Two starts with PQ 19. In the first case I did not save the game, turn on cheats, doe Cntrl U to map where good planets are and then load saved game. Game was normal. In the second case, I did the check for where good planets are and after loading the saved game, the planet had changed from PQ 19 to PQ 36. Perhaps this is related to turning the cheats on and then off - but others do this and they don't report this issue.

Reconfirmed the above. PQ 18 to start. If you adjust sliders without saving and chaecking for good system locations, then game seems to start out normal. I then saved the game, checked for good systems and then reloaded the saved game. After reload, PQ was 34.

Well, I removed the Evil Pack mod and all startups are normal. I have tried it about 5 times without the mod and to change in PQ on saving, checking for good systems, and reloading. I will not load one module at a time from the Mod to see if I can isolate which module is involved.

I play Research Inc. as my political party with +60% diplomacy, +20% research, and +20% planet quality.


I supposed that you have altered Research.inc to get 20% PQ bonus instead of 5%.


PP, don't know how I didn't catch that mistake. The bonus abilities for the PQ are +5%. Sorry for the bad info all!
