Well, I just tried an experiment and reloaded the Evil Pack mod one module at a time from the zip file. Everything worked fine.

Hmmm...I wonder if the "Mind Terror" invasion tactic in the Evil Pack, that has an influence penalty, is somehow the problem. It is not used by the normal GC invasion tactics. I tested it and it worked fine but there be might be an uncommon bug or conflicts with something that I didn't happen to have.

A reminder: Invasion Tactics must be placed in special "Invasion Tactics" folder to work properly.

Well, I am really confused as to what is causing my PQ problem other than it goes away when I remove the Evil Pack mod. I added each module and the start conditions all remained normal. I just tried a new game and the start was normal, but at the end of my first research period and switching to social production, two planets, Earth and antoher star system changed from 20 to 33, and the maintenance cost jumped so that I could not generate sufficient revenue, even with spending rate set to zero.

In this case and the previous one, spending was 56 for Maintenance, but nothing had been built.

So if I understand correctly, you have a maintenance that isn't related to anything. That is very annoying. And it smells like a bug. Perharps you could send a savegame to CariElf. Maybe she would be able to locate what is wrong in the savegame, since it is related to reloading a savegame. Perharps an overflow has occurred that have messed the savegame.

Hey, when did I become a fleet admiral?!? Was I sleep walking through the ceremony , oh well, next target, 1M points is within the next 2 days. After that GG should reach 2700 battles (~1.5weeks). way to go all!!!

OK, I took out the Invation Pack and I get the same problem. Starting out with PQ 19 Earth, check for where good system are, reload, go to setup screen to adjust sliders and before touching anything, maintenance is at 56 bc. I didn't check the PQ, but it was probably around 38-40 for Earth.

BOOM! no more games Until Wed. I have to get a proposal done which means probably an all nighter to night and late on Tuesday night.

I removed the USO party from the Evil Pack and played a normal game. Maybe the problem lies there.....

But the USO has no PQ changer
+45% Espionage
+20% Diplomacy
+20% Research
+1 Parsec Sensors
-10% HP
-10% Attack

PP, I don't know. I am at work right now and won't be able to check much until Wed. But, I did not change the ID of the USA party, but, I didn't use it either. Never the less, that may be part of the problem.

Well, I can't reproduce your problem. I loaded 19 total parties including the two evil pack ones. If the the parties are number 0-18, there are absolutely no problem that I can find. However, if there are any gaps in the numbering (ie 0-17, 20), the description and names are all mixed up which would seem to indicate a problem with GC/AP reading and using the data properly. Oddly, I still couldn't reproduce your error. As I mentioned in another thread, I've tried the game loaded to the hilt with mods and I couldn't reproduce your problem. At this point without having your exact folder with mods, there is probably no way to easily iron this out. Perhaps a solution would be for you to zip the folder with your mods and e-mail it to Icho?

I need some help renumbering my starbase modules and Political Parties. It would seem I have installed to mods for starbase modules that are numbered the same so I can only get one of them. Is there a link outthere that tells me how to do this?

The best way is to download the Galactic Civ Writer, a program for editing GC modules. After setting up the options on where to find the data, etc. load the Politcal Parties and sort them by number. It should renumber them automatically, but if not, change the numbers to be sequential, starting from 8 or 9, not sure which is the last party in GalCiv itself. I don't have the linke to the Writer program, but it is free and I think there is a link at the Embassy, since there previous identity took ownership and spruced it up.
