Boom (Noun) 1) The sound that the galaxy makes when the Galactic Guardians execute an Alpha Strike to remove multiple alien races from the game for the win 2) The sound of a Galactic Guardian "breaking" the 60K point barrier for a game (although only receiving 60,000 - the Metaverse cap.) 3) (Informal) The sound of a Galactic Guardian posting any impressive victory (Verb - Booming) 1)The act of a Galactic Guardian submitting games to the Metaverse, especially 60K games

BOOM! but now I am puzzled about the scoreing system. I have 9 games at 60K each. This would imply a score of 60K*9/SQRT(9) = 180000, which is what the Metavers says. However, look at ArieT. He has played 8 games, is ranked 90 in the verse with a score of 197724. so, he has played one game less, so his score should be less. My games were all 60K, his games started out at 5310 and ended with 52210, with no 60K games. His games are spread over 8 months, so there should be some decay, mine are all in the last week, so there should be no decay. How can this be?

Exact. But the squareroot effect apply per block. So it is better to have 4 60K spread in 4 blocks than 4 60K game in one block:
4 60K in 4 block = 60 + 0.95*60 +0.90 *60 + 0.85*60 = 3.70*60 = 222 K.
4 60K in one block = 60*squareroot(4) = 120K
Check the millionar thread in Galciv forum Link about the advantage of spreading games in block to get 1 Millions point with few games.

If you follow Peace Phoenix's instructions and don’t flood the Metaverse with submissions you can build your points tally in a relatively short period of time. |
|
I think this is the definition of those that don't want to play. PP instructions imply one game a week or a month - haven't look recently, but relatively few games. I know people who play a game every day - that is wanting to play. Playing is not building points, playing is playing. If points grow slower for those who play more, then my statment is correct - the meta score is against those that want to play.

mooB = Master of Orion Bashing?Well, it could be, but it is just BOOM! backwards - indicates that planet imploded due to the power of the explosive devise used to destroy it. |
|
!mooB is used to signify that a post that should have made a boom moved the Guardian backwards in overall metaverse scoring. Also !gnaB for a less than 60K game that has the same effect.

Sorry, I implied nothing. It depends on you goal. I just explain the current metaverse behavior. And yes, Stardock has decided not to penalize too much the casual gamer.
BTW,
4 60K games a month give 120K,
9 games a month give 180K,
16 games a month give 240K,
25 games a month give 300K,
36 games a month give 360K.
So you are still rewarded for playing a lot. Less than on altmeta, but they are still some advantage for submitting a lot.
The annoying point is to keep the submission rate over a long period of time.
And in this thread Link, you will find that the submission of 1 game 60K per day allow to to have over than 2 Millions points on day 290.
The metaverse ranking is just a game. It is up to you to decide what you want. And sure, some rules maybe stranges at first. But as I have said, I haven't implied nothing. You just must know what is your goal. And for a specific goal, there is a minimum submission rate that allow to get in a given time.
BTW, in the case of submitting 1 60K game each, you end up at day 290 with 2212K. But if you decide at this day not to submit a single day during 290 days and experience a recalc, all games will move to the last block and you score will be :
0.65 * 60 K * squareroot(290) = 660K.
And this ratio (2212/660 approx 3.3) don't depend of the games score (if they score the same), only of the submission period before being inactive.

We are both around here. I guess the original littlewotts is a bit quiet lately.

Thank you PP for clarifying this issue.
