Hi, Terl! Are you still working on that GalCiv story?

Trying to.... I have had too much work lately. I just don't get it. You'd think defense of the galaxy took precedence over some stupid reports and a couple of databases. Then when I get home I am more in the mood to slaughter Yor. I will be working on it though.

My first targets usually are the Yor and whoever is most powerfull... (except if it is me, but I have yet to see that situation).
I've only played one crippling, so that win might have been beginners luck. I'll hope I'll get some time to play tonight. Worst case scebnario is I wait till saturday (until then, and like the last few days, I'll be taking work home with me , so it is hard to play -- and even harder to work: I keep thinking about alternate strategies!)

This appears to be a problem that many of our Guardians are having lately...it's too bad we don't get paid to spend time in the forums!

My first target is always the weakest opponent...generally one who only has 2 or 3 systems. This eliminates one of my opponents, gains me a few systems and seems to make the other AIs respect me a bit more. I always like to take my time dismantling the Yor Collective so they're not always my first target...just my favorite!

Indeed.
However considering the miserable 0.5% raise I had (about 15$ a month -- over inflation correction), I don't think I get paid enough to spend all these hours at work. So from time to time I come here and talk . At least this way, when I feel I'm not being paid, I'm defending the galaxy and not working. Defending the galaxy is a duty after all, and I proudly do it for free

what I meant actually is not that I attack them, is that start ploting against them. And only attack if i think there is a fair chance of victory, or at least to deliver such a crippling blow to them that they're no longer threats to me.
In the last game, the Korx were the dominant power, with 5 star systems, very spread. but three of them just on my doorstep, near my three systems. I managed a 4 side war against them, (except me and another race too far away) and when time was right, I invaded those 3 planets and took them out. I only finished them just before the end of the game. For the rest of the time they were fighting Altarians, under my supervision (so that they would not risk taking them out).

Good morning!

Theoden: Happy to see your daughter is better and you’re back at work.

The Guardians progress on the Canadian front is largely due to the outstanding efforts of Lothmorg, who I think is probably the greatest warrior in the Metaverse.

I like to leave the Yor for last when I can…..I like to think they’re squirming as they watch the other majors fall one by one, knowing it’s only a matter of time before they too will be crushed by the might of the Galactic Guardians.

Honor and Justice!

Honor and Justice unless you're a Yor
If you be a Yor then Death's at the door.

Indeed it is. Last night I bribed the Drengin to attack the Torians and they gladly agreed. Many turns later I get a message from the Drengin that the war is not going well and could I help them. I thought to myself "well, it wasn't supposed to be good for either of you Lord Kona, you idiot". I gladly sent them some old corvettes so they could keep on fighting.

I would have to agree with you except to ammend that to Lothmorg and Greldon are the greatest warriors in the Metaverse!!

Yes, it's much better watching the AIs beat each other to a pulp, unwittingly making the Guardians the most powerful empire in the galaxy!

I usually don't do this, but 1789, french revolution, I'll take it. Even if the date is all there is left from it...

Watch out for the Jedi.....I'm sure they're lurking nearby as post #1800 approaches.

A Yor when it is dying: "I see a light. It is blue. It has white lettering. It says 'Fatal exception occured at msdx.000000034'. Farewell."

You know, I'm really blown away by the activity of this thread. We're almost to #1800 and we're not even fighting for first place in the Metaverse! I'm glad everybody enjoys dropping in and saying hi. And I'm really happy with the activity of the Guardians. This empire is exactly what I wanted to see...people who are enjoying the game and participating in the fun! If we never make it to the Top 5, I'm happy with the way things have turned out.
