Plasma scares me. Heard lots of horor stories of single pixel burning out and driving you nuts. 10 year half life even if everything goes well.

The latest generation has come a long way in that department, and some companies have negated that problem. There is another option out there, but only a few manufacturers are using it. It's called LCoS and it's a cross between DLP and LCD.

I sit at about 10' away also, and I love my 36" tube TV. I considered going bigger, but like you hinted at - you're only 10' away.

The only LCos tv available here our JVC ILA and start at 52 inch. I'm thinking 42". LCos is a about a year away being manufactured big time from what I have read.

I could just by a normal CRT and wait for LCos to be wide spread. It is a better tech then the other projections.

I bought a 43" LCD Panasonic projection. Now I just got to figure how to fit it in the room. I went there with the intention of buying the Samsung DLP but they were side by side and the Panasonic had the way better picture. So much for internet research, you just got to go with what looks best to you in the end. Now I just have to break it to the wife that I have to upgrade my cable box and DVD player to take advantage of my new tech.

Reminds me of a story that a senior person, now retired, at Los Alamos told me once. He saw that the technology for stereos kept increaseing and the price getting lower. So he waited. And he waited. And he waited. He said he still does not have a stereo after 20 years because as soon as he would buy one a better one would come out.

#18173  by Citizen Aww_Nuts - 11/24/2004 9:17:48 AM

Aww Nuts, I generate 70-80 games a month. There is no marginal difference in the Empire score. I get 3k-6k per game, depending on how many I generate.

Wrong. You have more points for having games spread in different blocks than in the same block. But the more games you submit, the greater the score, unless you are submitting games that individually score less.

Once again, I believe Peace put it better than I could have. Thanks Peace for the demo and corroboration.
