Fuels Chief, you are in danger of burning: you have an average submitting rate of 4 games per day for the last 30 days.

And games will soon hit a new block: If not submitting and a recalc occurs the 01/13/05, you will get 50K just for game movements.

Now, the bad news (not only for you, but for everyone): Since your block from 0-31 days is filled, if you keep the same submission rate, the points increase will just be generated by games movements between blocks, since there will always be the same number of 60K games in the first block.

And when there is 120 games scoring each 60K, a new one in this block will earn you 60K*sqrt(121) - 60K*sqrt(120) = 60K*(sqrt(121) - sqrt(120)) = 60k*sqrt(120) * (sqrt(1 + 1/120) - 1) approx 60K*sqrt(120)*1/2*1/120 = 30K/sqrt(120) = 2.7 K

First boom gets you your recalc - 2nd boom should then get "normal" points ie 60k/sqrt(no of games in the past 30 days)

Not quite:
Value of a block if there is N 60K games in it:
value = raw total / sqrt(number of game) = N *60K / sqrt(N) = 60K * sqrt (N).

When submitting a new game in a bloc, the new value is : 60 K * sqrt(N+1)

So the increase is : 60K*sqrt(N+1) - 60K * sqrt(N) = 60K*sqrt(N)*sqrt(1+1/N) - 60K * sqrt(N) = 60K*sqrt(N) * (sqrt(1+1/N) - 1).

And sqrt(1+x) can be approximated to 1 + x/2 for small x.

So sqrt(1+1/N) can be approximated to 1 + 1/2N If N is big enough.

So the increase can be approximated to 60K*sqrt(N)*(1 +1/2N - 1) = 60K*sqrt(N)*1/2N = 30K/sqrt(N) (and not 60K/sqrt(N))

The mark of an active Guardian. We know who is working to keep the Empire alive and ahead of the pack. Some boom hourly (FC) and some boom daily (Chip and PB) and some boom occasionally. It really doesn't matter as long as they have boomed once in their stay. It keeps us focused and the thread alive. Compare to other threads that have no tradition. Even Damoose says hello to an empty crypt every morning.

We have other traditions that mark us as well. Beer gnomes, silly poems as we approach large numbered posts, inventions to stop the moose....

Indeed, LW. We are alive with tradition. Unlike the other empires which are undead with no tradiation.

Chip the moose is very difficult to miss. Take shield and approach Moose. Use small talk to distract moose. The merrits of foundation butt is always a good topic. Take shield and both hands and Wack-a Wack-a. Works everytime. Almost

I've just never actually done it before. I didn't want to do something that had become passe. Therefore...

#18896  by Citizen PassingBye - 1/13/2005 7:15:36 AM

Chip,, you just have tobe careful when wacking the moose head. Damoose seem to favor the butt cheeks of those who wack-a him

Weal you protective gear.

BOOM! for 2336 points

#18899  by Citizen PassingBye - 1/13/2005 9:04:43 PM

BOOM! for no points and no games registered. Will resubmit later. Already tried twice and it delays the appropriate amount of time, but no updates on score or number of games.
