Yeah well, I'm not too happy with the Drengin right now either

- I tried to play a Genius AI's map just to see what would happen and if my strats would still work ..everything was great until WHAM! the Drengin came calling with Corvettes and stuff (I hadn't even met them yet) and demanded tribute. Well this was a delicate time for me since my trade routes to the Arceans hadn't even arrived there yet and well..I got a case of the stiff upper lip and basically told them to goto h*ll. *cough* Which, as it turned out, was kind of the wrong strategy for the moment. *ahem* They declared war and once they did their allies (I forget who..didn't really matter) joined them and suddenly my no military approach wasn't looking too rosy for Our Hero.

When they ask for tribute refuse but with the conversation screen still open, offer something smaller. Like 10 credits for 50 turns or a couple of techs. They usually will like your smaller gift more then there demand and actually move their diplomacy up with you.

I usually refuse two or maybe three times before bribing them. Need to be careful doing this though, for sometimes they will take you gift and thank you and say, "but the war will continue!"

BOOM! for 4,027. This was a really hard game. The AIs would not trade with me for some reason. I had to buy freighters and initiate all my own trade routes.

I have got my alias and my email the same as this computer. Only difference the new one has the latest version of the game. Any ideas.

Well, if playing a no-military approach, you need to accept all their demands. Or reject and offer them something else instead
