I take luck as a modifier .. this tends to stop bad things happening.. and you don'tr have to be evil to be hit by the fundimentalists.. its a random event..(from memory)

You can take the planets back either by culture bombing therm.. ot by invading them with sufficient forces etc...
just like taking any other planet

This is directly due to being evil.. Still yes it is a random event.. Culture has no effect and normal invasion tactics are not working. I have wasted many transports and keep getting thwarted over and over. These guys are harder then normal planets it is blowing my mind to be honest.

Don't give up.. it can be done.. I used to get them a lot... and all but 1 ALways ended up winning.. no such thing as the no win scenereo

I used culture bombing to retake them.. 9 starbases / sector around them.. till they flip back to me make peace first though.. or the'll keep blasting your starbases..

wait a sec.. Culture bombing? I never heard the term before.. I did waste about 35-40 transports and lost all of the invasions.

Okay I made peace arranged for them to give me back all but one planet. I am now almost number 1 in all areas again.. researching 4D entrance.. I should have went through every possible technology.. Omega Mod in case you did not know adds a lot of new ones. Nice bonus hopefully.. Thanks for the tips..

Culture Bombing: Building Lots of Starbases fully expanded in the culture modules..

what you do is build Starbases in sectors around the sector where the vplanet is that you are trying to Flip to your empire.. you can have up to 9 starbases / sector so if you had the max surrounding a planet you'd have 9starbases*8sectors ... not much can withstand that..

NOTE: remember when you've flipped the planet check its moral and adjust tax rate accordingly.. and also don't forget to Disband starbases around the planet that are no longer needed.. Otherwise the costs are way to high to build new starbases around other planets you want to flip..

As for the tips and many more.. read through the strategy forom there are a lot of helpful tips in there (some even by me )

an average game huge maso alliance win takes me between 4-8 hours.. I honestly don't know how these people can play them to max scores in less.. i've tried .. tried and failed to quicken my games even using their tactics as a side note.. it used to take me about 24-36 hours(game play) to complete a gigantic maso military win... so the more you play the more you'll refine your playing style to quicken your games.. it all takes time and trials..

Yeah that is about my average 20-35 hours to finish one.. I am not able to handle sitting very long.. My current game will be done in a hour or so.. It should be a good one.. Well no wait I have to research the extra techs.. maybe 2-3 hours yet..

I will use all available weapons and resources sir!

With the charges I have not been getting to carried away with the SB's really.. I maxed out one so far next to them.. very hostile getting ready to attack..

Not much of a score only 12,000.. Oh well next one will be my best one yet.

#582  by Diplomat Blue_Steel - 9/20/2004 6:12:38 PM

Thanks.. any score is welcome... there ius no such thing a a too little score... one does the best that one can.. it trook me over 6 months to get up to playing the harder levels..

SB's used to have a maintanence cost attached.. which they aparently no longer have.. however for every starbase you have the newxt one costs you more to build.. so the idea is to keep the number of starbases to a minimum.. ie: not 9 in every sector of the map... .. this means thast overal costs of starbases (including running costs) are down..

Until I begin submitting scores over 25,000 plus I will be whining.. I have owned the game for a long time just took a rather long break.. I will start another game later tonight or tomorrow..

#584  by Veteran Cosmic Fox - 9/22/2004 8:44:17 AM

Great news.. I have one of the best games going I ever played before.. I am number 1 in 6 categories at the start of the game. It appears everyone else had a bad start.. I have it set for miltary conquest only.. is this the way you suggested?

yup.. for the highest score... you can't beat a military win

Hey DF, it looks like you have the makings of a good war story yourself.

JT, I admire your courage yesterday. At the end of the day all a man has is his convictions and the courage of same. As for myself, I had to learn the hard way to pick my spots (i.e. choose my battles).

AN: Thanks... the Irony of it is that I was against the guidelines in the first place... but with so many empires wanting them to work FAIRLY and they were... it took me by suprise as there is no real way of policing them...

I'd like nothing better than to have a message about the starfleet empire in the main general forum.. and now because some empires have done it so will starfleet... Just spending time to word it properly .. eg: looking for lost members. Trying to Contact strandard members,Missing in Action... or whatever...

It doesn't make any difference.. so long as StarFleet Like the other Empires get a pressence in the main Forum...

Seeing as this has been what empires have stated their reasoning for posting in there has been i should be able to get away with it... But you watch.... I'll get harrased because I do it with starfleet...

After all, all i'm doing is trying to look after the wellbeing of Starfleet

DF: Thats a great Idea.. write a story around one or more of your games... in the starfleet log (stories) thread..

I will give it a shot but I am not a clever writer like you and many others. I think you will find my story boring.

You do a fine job looking out for our Empire Admiral. (You are a fleet admiral according to your medals.)

Aww Nuts.. Thanks.. I doubt my story will be that good.

I don't think so. Unless there are too many threads started by Starfleet on the same topic

BTW, I hope I am not "personna non grata" in this thread

Anyone is more than welcome to post in here...I may get agro at times but then who doesn't

I've Given GalCiv a good Bashing this month (punched out more games than I'd like to in a month.. I'm more than happy to submit 4 / month .. any more than that and I feel that its actually detrimental to my score and aging.. bucause I know that I can't maintain more games than that on a regular basis

the capss os scores are different at different levels of play the 60k cap relates to masso games..

The Web Page updates have been placed on hold here because a friend of mine has gone missing in Irland.. he hasn't been seen our heard from on over a month.. also got other web pages to maintain for other people who pay me a little for my work.. and the time i've been playing Galciv hasn't helped either...

What a difficult time for all. I can't imagine how his parents must feel. May you have faith for a positive outcome.

And I watched that first episode (despite my parents' mocking that it would never last) with great joy. And since then, I have watched and re-watched all of those and all the new shows that followed and every movie...

Just finished watching the boxed set of the first season. There was one episode that I had only ever seen a part of. It was nice seeing the whole thing. Can't wait for the next box sets to come out.
