Note:
This is only a bug fix and compilation release nothing New has been added

1) Repaired English.str
(somehow a non printable charactor got into the file
and caused it to crash if you made the Cardasians chaotic evil)
2) Included the Star trek Ships
Monster files from the Ships distro left out due to crashes
(see the Credits readme for details)
3) Added Re-scaled,croped images for use in The Altarian Prophecy
4) Re-Organized Files for easy instilation
5) Edited the .Doc and .TXT files to reflect changes made

How come the AI has a lot more techs than me? I went for all the peaceful techs that can let me research faster like genetic mapping and didn't do many weapons tech but the ai somehow got a lot more techs than me. I put my spending at 50 percent and left the social military and research spending bars alone. A few years later into the game I've got 30000 in my treasury and is by far the richest but I just wasn't very successful in tech and the AI already sent over deathknights and I don't have the battle crusier tech yet.

How come the AI has a lot more techs than me?

Remember, techs are not just researched. They are traded for, received as gifts, demanded as tribute, and stolen via espionage. A significant amount of techs acquired might not have been actually researched by any given AI.

Techs have pre-requesits -- if you only reseach the big ones then you don't get what the small ones have to offer later on.. there are also techs that are morality based.. some extras that are only for those wh'm are evil and some thatonly for wno'm are good...

As Moser has suggested you don'r have to research everything yourself you can trade techs for gold/ships/other techs/influence points or even planets if your desperate enough..

You'll learn which ones are best to trasde for and which ones are best to research as you play the game time and time again..

i think i'll find us very helpfull and friendly here at starfleet.. just remember to have fun playing the game... big scores do'nt matter .. playing regulary does in the metaverse..

Welcome aboard!

We will kick you tips when possible.. The true pleasure with this game is finding your own method from the many tips given. No one will play the game exactly the same as the next person. Admiral Qwerk has mentioned this to me before but took me a while to understand.
