My 4th game just went down the tubes like the other 3 before, I cannot submit to Metvaerse, either from my work, or my house, there is something definetely wrong about the Metaverse and our empire, I am sorry guys, but this is the last stroke, I am tire of constantly complaining about the Metaverse, and this series of incident have proven my point. Stardock could care less about fixing the Metaverse, you all have seen their lack of response about this whole issue. So I think that from now on I am officially out of action.

I honestly believe that there is someone in Stardock that has some kind of grudge against me and our empire, so I don't want to affect this wonderful team anymore. It has been a pleasure to be with you all. Sorry that this has to finish like this.

Do not overwrite your endgame. Rename it to something else so you can keep playing. Always saving your endgame under a different name. Keep trying to submit and once one works open each save game and submit those as well.

Send an note to carielf carielf@stardock.com Email (think I got the email right). They are usually responsive.

do not stop playing, the metaverse submission issue for you will be fixed.

Note - Think back to the last game that submitted correctly. Since that game, did you make a change to your computer such as install or modify a firewall add in a router with a hardware firewall, install XP service pack 2? Do you have the correct information on your Galciv submission screen before you submit?

Any of these may have an affect.

Nope, I posted 2 games las saturday, I finished a third one and when I tried to submit it didn't go thru, I went home (thinking that maybe some firewall or other issue were affecting my job out line) and when I tried to send another game I played at home I got the same results, I tried a third game at home and nothing, I thought OK let me leave couple of days to see if this situation gets fixed. I posted 2 games today 1 from home and 2 from work and nothing they don't show up.

So JT... Sorry to hear about the missing members and such. Bad bit of 'whatever'...

Have you heard back from the Goddess or Pat on what happened?

Good luck on recovering every thing/one.

There were suppose to be 3 on 2/5 and 2 on 2/6 and other 2 2/7. None so far.

Mayito, I had a similar problem when I switched to AP. It had to do with registering my AP serial number at stardock so that my player profile would be switched over to AP and could then accept AP submissions.

BTW, I agree with Newfy, hang in there and drop an e-mail in to Cari. They have always been extremely prompt and helpful in my past dealings with them.

GOTM are bad to play? Now I will not agree with that at all. Never one time have a seen a corrupt GOTM ever in the 4 plus years I have helped sponsor them! No offense mate! Not to mention the 1000's of PBEM games we setup at CDG website.

I did not know there were so many other issues that can occur. I will always use Mods when playing I find the standard game rather dull to be honest. Icho Tolot Mods add a lot more fun to the game and challenge. (I am the one who was moaning about my strategy no longer working it was due to the Mods JT Qwerk I know!)

If we make a list of these things to avoid wouldn't that be cool?

Mayito my friend, do not think negative like that I know for a fact it has nothing to do with you personally. I am in contact with Brad quite often by email. He must be aware of these problems or is in the process of fixing them. The deal with you was their policy says, if anyone submits games that show the anomoly (spelling) more then one time you will be viewed as a cheater and removed.

This is almost a quote from Brad to me in an email. If we do not get a response I will make an attempt at contacting him and Pat Ford the guy who designed the metaverse. Cari Elf can handle some of it, but Pat is the person to contact: pford@stardock.com Email concerning issues with the metaverse.

Please lets all relax and not get upset. We will recover and have our good times again. Being negative and making accusations will not solve a thing. Though I am miffed as to why this has been ignored for so long.

The only problem with the GOTM or any of those games which use the same map for multiple players try to comete in .. is the fact that only one person can submit them to the metaverse and get a score... If others try it'll simply just fail... and not record any score as that game is already in the metaverse...

Thats what i've been lead to believe...

OH GOTM never are submitted to the metaverse. I never planned on that at all. We will be modifying some of the games in a way that would ruin the ability to do so. Succession games are submitted we each take turns submitting to our empires when complete.

We are making our secret project for that.

I know... but some ppl may still try to submit them.. fortgetting that fact... as has happened once or twice before (from memory... I could be wrong)

#1287  by Veteran Cosmic Fox - 2/7/2005 9:27:51 PM

I never have had it happen at CDG with Galciv.. Then again we had only like 15 or so players total.

I hope that you do take part in some of the GOTM we are planning at NT. They will be a good time and only takes a short time a day to play it being they normally are a whole month long.

Back on topic, have you heard back from anyone regarding this incident?

#1288  by Citizen Disciple777 - 2/7/2005 9:28:29 PM

I know, I am just upset that suddenly we loos have of our staff, and I know for a fact that no one in our team will delete all those players, so it has to be a computer error, Saturday we had over 2.51 and were in 7 place, since the problem happened, no one for Stardock has said a word, and that is wrong.

#1289  by Veteran Cosmic Fox - 2/7/2005 9:50:04 PM

I agree with you but first, we need facts! I never jump to conclusions or at least I try not to. There is no reason for them to single out anyone or any Empire. This is not good business sense. They are a very smart company managed by a very good team of people. I have the utmost respect for Stardock and I can't assume things like that. They support the gamers to well for this to occur IMHO.

I am shocked and equally upset but I still think this was some sort of covert thing. We gained a lot of members much to fast all of a sudden. We loose a slew of players from this incident and only what 1-2 come back? That does not make sense, I can only think of maybe 4 players that were completely inactive that are not back yet. Hut101 "Mr Squatty" () will rejoin once he hears about it. MSN has been down most of the day for me so I am not able to contact him. Things do not add up at all to me.

#1290  by Citizen Disciple777 - 2/7/2005 10:07:35 PM

I agree with you 100%, I was very frustrated that lost 4 games, well at least one submitted after 10 attempts, so at least no everything is lost, now what I want to know is how we lost all those players.

#1291  by Veteran Cosmic Fox - 2/7/2005 10:43:06 PM

Yeah, I am with you there. If Qwerk does not hear something soon then I will begin my own quest to get answers. I will send emails to everyone I know at Stardock I am certain someone will reply.

I have began to save my game before I know I am going to be finished. I then copy my folder of saves to another location with the date to ID it. If it does not submit I will try again. I can also easily send it off to Cari if she needs it.

I suspect they will look into it I do not think they would simply ignore it.

Welcome aboard Killer, Die! Star Fleet always welcomes its new recruits!

All that matters it that you enjoy the game and continue to play. That is all we require with your membership. Well not require really, we would APPRECIATE you being active. Scores being little or large makes no difference at all. It all adds up in the end.

#1296  by Citizen Evil Druid - 2/8/2005 1:40:19 PM

The new recruits are flooding in, now if you could get all your senior officers to return, you'd be laughing.
