Also, the media is up to its hype again, granted it is true this has been a bad month for American soldier casulties, but calling this month "Bloody April" is just too much negative glamorizing. In my opinion. |

Haven't heard that one yet. That's over the top! You know the news biz... If it bleeds, it leads!

In the end we get the government we deserve. |

Oh no! Are you trying to say that Tony Blair is all my fault?

Down as much to total voter apathy as anything else.
There is very little difference between the policies of the two main parties at present, and they all seem to be either bordering on corrupt, or completely incompetent. Primarily, they have all forgotten the principles behind the creation and existence of the "House of Commons" - they are members of the common people (i.e. not aristocracy as in the House of Lords). They think now that they are above the everyday folk living in the country and can ride roughshod over public opinion, when in fact they are elected to represent the views of the community that voted for them - regardless of their own personal opinions.

Yeah - career politicians. Yuck.
I personally think that anyone who *wants* to be a politician should immediately be banned from ever being elected.

Must see's for London:
West-end - you have to go and see a show, theres so many there bound to be one will like, then its a short trip down the road where you can see Trafalgar square and Nelson's Column. Plus theres loads of little parks in this area with statues raised to heroes of the British empire, I think almost every park in Charing cross has one.
If you are willing to brave the dangers, then London Zoo down at Camden Town is a good place. While your at Camden you can go to its legendary market which is quite good fun - there are three or four markets though not just the one, each has a different character. Warning Camden can get a bit rough specially as you get closer to chalk farm or kentish town.
SoHo is a must see, spent most of my time there at uni. London's gay capital, its amazing fun, theres loads of different shops there selling the weird and the wonderful. Plus there are lots of nice bars, quite a few have some sort of outside seating, my sis owns two of them!!!(PROUD LITTLE BROTHER MODE ), theres also lots of cool clothes shops here and a 50p a go cinema. While your there you can take a quick trip to little china town, which is just like china towns everywhere, full of life and colour.
For a nice shopping area theres the obvious choices of Regents street, Bond Street, Oxford circus(easiest place to get to carnaby street from - another famous market/shopping area), Totenham court road(cheap stolen electrical gadgets mostly but clothes and bit at the other end), picadilly circus (loads of shops plus statue of Eros). If you want to go somewhere with a bit more than commercial supergiants (theres eight Mcdonanld within the space of a couple of miles walking distance - two are round the corner from each other!!) charging three hundred quid for a pair of pants then try The Angel, got a very nice shopping area there with loads of "little" shops selling cool stuff - wide variety here from houseware to antiques to retro clothes.
If you want to see victorian type architecture and the richest part of London then South Kensington is the place to go.
In Brief other things you should see - Tower Bridge, Houses of parliament, downing street (if only for its mediocrity - its our seat of power and thats the best we can do ?!?!?!?!), Madame Tussauds, St.Pauls Cathedral.
All of this is do-able in a couple of days as most of its 8mins(mile) walking distance from each other.

That just about hits the nail on the head Exar! The question is, how does it get changed for the better?
Bam-Bam, when are you over? I can check to see what's going on at the time.

I am all for the execution of all politicans, especially those who want power. One of the few politicans that has prominence that I trust and like to any degree is R-Tennessee Bill Frist, Senate Majority Leader. Actually happens to be my state, so I will switch sides and vote him back in. Seems to be a good guy, and really not the typical politician.

Hmm. Running for re-election in the Diplos' senate, aren't you, ABT?
There's always a handful of politicians who've managed to maintain an aura of respectability. Paul Simon, former Senator from Illinois, leaps to mind, as does Fred Thompson, former Senator from Tennessee. For that matter, there's Jimmy Carter. While I certainly didn't agree with everything these guys had to say, I respected the fact that they stuck to positions that they honestly believed - they had credibility. No debates on the meaning of the word "is," for example...

RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY! Actually, I don't abuse the power, so I don't consider myself to be among the terminated. Besides, just try. I can talk you to sleep. Filibuster!
You mean the network that had a reporter giving troop positions away by drawing them in the sand? Just as long as SOMEBODY kills Giraldo Rivera, I will be happy. And you must admit, some quality, family-oriented programming comes from that station.

Interesting breakthrough in Genetics: Link
Very odd. And not too surprising that it is possible.
Should open a good debate.
