Just noticed in the RB thread that they feel 60K games should be banned in the Clone War as they are so easy to get with AP.
Perhaps we should create a self-flagellation level just for them.

Too much work banning them

Well if the 60k games become a problem, we can ban em next time. I too think they are too easy to get in the ap game. Large is generating it.
My biggest problem with it is it ends up a race to the terror stars and becomes redundant and boring.

Of course RB hasn't lived unless they have added at least one rule to every game they play.
| |
|
I had thought that the rules were set down already, and that we were not going to change them.

I was refering to maso games not to RB

Sorry, I changed my message because it was not what I meant to say, it was too inflammatory. But those were the first rules: no rules besides 3 alliance limit and no saving games.

It wouldn't be self-flagellation, it would be variant scum, thank you very much!
Seriously, I'm not sure whether that self-flagellation comment was intended to be a snipe, but it came across that way. Do you really intend to post snide remarks every time an RB member expresses an opinion on the game? Regardless of whatever complaints you have against Sirian, surely you're not actively trying to drive a wedge between RB players in general and the rest of the community?
If it's no challenge to win 60k games all the time by following a formulaic recipe, why not impose restrictions on your game to make it more interesting? Pumping out points is simply a matter of dedication and available time, as I'm sure you know, and without challenge, we find that gets old fast.
becomes redundant and boring |

When we introduce new rules to the game, this is exactly what we're trying to address. We add rules to make the game as non-formulaic as possible, so that it doesn't become boring: we value gameplay with real tradeoffs, not a single best path to success.
We haven't been invited to add rules here, and so we have not. Jaxom's observation was merely that - an observation. There's no call to mock our value set on that basis.

It's interesting that RB are allowed to express opinions but if other people do then are called snide remarks.
I presume that where Sirian referred to Stardock as taking the top players games and using them for the AI, but presumed that Stardock didn't want to use them because the data was "tainted" that is a valid opinion?
Where I referred to self-flagellation as the way RB deliberately restricts themselves and imposes their own rulesto make the gameplay harder is that not also a valid opinion?

Good luck with the Clone Wars! |

Thanks Zed F, although those Cheese Monkeys from the Galactic Guardians are going to be hard to beat
