They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

The only way I could post in the ANZAC thread was to TRULY BECOME ONE a PROMISE I made NOT to post in EMPIER threads again for fear of sparking BAD feelings with some of the members.

Nice piece of writing, who wrote it? |
|
Laurence Binyon, taken from the poem "For The Fallen".

Well done Mag! This passage from the Binyon poem is traditionally read at ANZAC day services around Australia....

Also at services in the UK and Commenwealth for rememberance day in November (held on the Sunday closest to the 11th day of the 11th month at 11:00). That day was chosen as it was the date of the signing of the armistice (in 1918) which effectively ended the First World War, though Rememberance Day now encompasses all conflicts where Commonwealth forces have been involved and suffered casualties.
Until the end of the Second World War it was known simply as Armistice Day.

Your welcome, Evil. It was an honor.
| |
|
You are welcome, Steve. It indeed was an great honor.
And still, i wished the ANZAC would not leave.
Well, maybe it ain't the last time we saw you
| |
|
Steve and ANZACs alike,
Fare well in your CONTINUING journey across the Metaverse. It was an honor to join you, however briefly.
| |
|
But wait! Where were the sheep!
| |
|
Steve, may your way be paved with the blood of a Dregin! May you eat and drink with plates and utensils made from destroyed Yor parts.
It was fun, stick around it will get better!
