I would rather drink warm beer then beer with ice. I do like a frosty mug however.

When I play hockey, beer is in the ice. that's why my friends and i keep getting our tongues stuck to the playing surface.

Greetings Gentlemen,
Just bought the game today, but I couldn't resist signing up for the Maple Leaf the second I saw it.
Chalk up one more Canuck. Hope I will be able to contribute. Any advice on best settings all around to play in order to maximize point contributions to our Empire?
Sincerely,
RTDouglas

The most important advice: enjoy the game and don't worry about points. Some have been burned trying to get lots of points fastly and don't play Galciv anymore.

I am sure that you know that the empire thread for your empire is the Canadian Star Federation. This thread was more of a recruitment thread for that empire (I think) Damoose, one of the most active in the CSF will set me straight if I am wrong.

BTW, there are Canadians in other empires as well, so if you find an empire that may be more to your liking, look them over. It is no problem to switch empires. We are all friends (well, sort of )

Thanx Peace Phoenix,
I agree fun is always the first priority I was just curious if there was a "common" setting players used. My instincts are always to play hard/huge with most games, but that is not always the best as far as scoring is concerned.
Hi Passingbye,
Yes you are probably right. I just picked the most active thread I saw with "Canadian" in it, however I will ask any future questions in the appropriate thread. As far as looking over other Empires, I appreciate your advice but find the thought of playing for another Empire TREASON at best! When the Dominion of Canada calls I will always answer her sweet voice and ignore all others...
Respectfully,
RTDouglas

Well, there is a "common" setting for people that play the metaverse: Use a setting that allow to score the cap limit of 60K with a minimum amount of turns played (game must end after january 2190 to avoid a 50% penalty)

With base Galciv, it is maso gigantic military win.
With AP, you can achiev 60K with alliance win on smaller maps, or with a smaller difficulty.

My instincts are always to play hard/huge with most games

Well, try first some easy setting, since you need to learn the game mechanisms. The size of the galaxy (and the number of usable planets) is important on gameplay and the way to handle AI.

Hi THEBESTAINTYOU...

Click on the Metaverse button at the top of the page.

You'll need to leave astrodominance first. Go to the astrodominance empire and click the Quit Empire button at the bottom. You can get to the astrodominance page from the Metaverse page by clicking the My Empire button.

Once you've arrived on the Metaverse page, on the left hand side you see a button... Top Empires. Click it.

The CSF is currently 9th in the 'verse. Once on the CSF page, you should see a join button at the bottom. Click it and you're one of the UnDead of the Canadian Star Federation.

Good Luck! I look forward to seeing you soon over at the crypt.
