There is a problem with our upstream provider at the moment. This means that sites under galciv.org are likely to be inaccessible at the moment. Engineers are currently working on it.

The European Alliance site is back, but our forum isn't. The main page of our forum remains white.

Any ideas??

OK - I'll take a look at the Euroforums - I'm getting a white screen too. I recently upgraded the server - now on MySQL V4 and PHP 5.01 - may be related to that.

Alex, How do you get statbot data and put it into Access. There are some things that I would like to do that would be much easier if I could have that data.

Hank - I use an ODBC driver from access. However, I don't give "public" access (IP restricted to my permanent IP) to the ODBC connection (it's a big security hole potentially!) so might be tricky to set up.

G-Force - It appears as though your version of IPB is quite old, and is not compatible with PHP5. I've (temporarily) dropped back to PHP4, but will need to upgrade again fairly soon. Can you get an upgrade, or would you consider using an alternate forum system???

Are you getting the original information from stardock via a query that I could use to pull down the info? I could set up my own DB after that.

No - the info is obtained by a scheduled job that pulls lots of http "user pages" from stardock - this is then analysed and placed into the database.

Thanks Alex. I may try something like that. I don't need daily updates, and right now I'm only worried about my own empire, so maybe I can manage something like that myself.

It's a freeware version so I don't know if I can upgrade it. But I certainly understand that you can't keep your server at the old php. So if you have to change it, I'll probably have to switch to a new system. I'll check on upgrading.

Looks I won't be getting it upgraded. Do you have a forum I can set up for the European Alliance?

One that'll stay this time. This would be the 2nd time all of our posts were lost due to a change.

Alex,

I think it would be cool if you could add to the empires page empires by league. Basically have 4 tables, Overall, then Pro, Amateur, and Novice.
