Calculating the precise score delay would require a spreadsheet, which I don't have. |
|
I have one (but it is in French) if you are interested. BTW, I am sure that Tech can give you the one I have posted in the attachement area of the Embassy.
When running my spread sheet, I found that if Tech submits an average of 4 games per day, he will reach 4 Millions points for Christmas and 1000 games at the end of december
The calcul is a bit tricky due to definition of block, and the fact that all games end in the last block which experience a 35% decay and a big square root effect.
If he submits an average of 3 games per day, at Christmas he will have near 3780K and reach 4 Millions near the end of January 2005 and 1000 games at the same time

I think I did download the spreadsheet at one point, but I didn't have Excel.
It looks like my calculations were based on an overly optimistic estimation of score decay. I suspected as much, but I didn't want to depress Technician by telling him it would take another 400 games.

Nope. It isn't the decay that was a problem: it is the fact the games accumulate in bigger block (moving from 30 days to 70 to the last where all games ends) which increase the effect of the square root.
When there is a steady submission rate over a long period, the gain is only provided by games entering the last block since other blocks won't move (same number of games for same total value)

Thanks for the kind words GH.

Dignavi, stop by and say hi, if you get the time. I have been noticing that you are on a rampage submitting 60K games. You are moving up fast.
Good work pard.

I think he ran out of sacred weed and is now using a new substance concocted by Roy designed to bring all the Foundation into slavery to the Yor.

If that is the case I surely hope our friends the Guardians can pull our collective butts out of the smoke.

|
If we were all slaves of the Yor, they'd probably blow us up instead.
