My family is in and around Bridgewater and Halifax N.S. Have fun when you are out there. I tell you I do miss N.S.

Hey, I just noticed that my freaking shield finally changed color. It has been months since the last change.

Congrats, Newfy.
My difficulty ratting changes so slowly I don't even see a change in the 100th digit for multiple games. I am now at 9.33 and holding.

I am not sure how the number is calculated I have my black shield and I am at about the same level. |

Actuallly, your difficulty rating is 9.06. You have a black shield. Mine is 9.33 and I have a crippling shield. Does anyone know how this works?

Termil just noticed that you posted your first Maso game. Congratulations
How was it?

Termil's score was pretty sucky for an AP Huge Maso. Did he win before 2190?
I just submitted my pointlessly long and drawn out Gig Maso Conquest - either my 100th or 101st game, the Metaverse seems to have lost count. Well, now I can get back to churning out 60K alliance wins.
I've been experimenting more with modding political parties.
I finally downloaded Research Inc. I had no idea how good it was. I wouldn't have dared create a party that extreme. I assumed the party score the GalCiv writer gives you was a clue as to how good the AI thought it was. I was creating parties with scores like -1.5 to make sure the AI didn't pick them. Research inc has a score of over 20.
Does anyone understand how the AI chooses a party? Or how you can tell if they did? I looked in debug.err but didn't see anything relevant.
I tried out a couple of new parties in tiny galaxies.
The Downie Investment Fund has +150% economics (and no other bonuses, and big military penalties). Rating - not that great. Economic bonuses are weird. The result was a bonus of between 30% and 50% to tax income.
The Culture Vultures have +150% influence (and the usual -90% military). Rating: Pretty good. As long as you are in a crowded galaxy, and you build a few cultural improvemens early on, you have a good chance of flipping worlds without trying particularly hard.

I have Research Inc and The New Diplomats installed, and once in a while I see the AI choosing the latter. Otherwise the pick the War party it seems.
