I don't like Cntrl-U. It takes away the sense of mystery from the game, and replaces it with a tedious bit of writing down sector numbers and reloading.Freighters have excellent range and are frequently located in usefully distant locations

yeah maybe! But i like to equal out me with AI, coz they DO know where everything is!

Freighters do have a nice range but they are slow! For instance jsut at the start: Freighter has 1 parsec per turn while scout has 3parsec.. It is undoubtfully faster!
Also i am too greedy to let freighters to go around the galaxy, while they can make some nice Bucks! $$$

Methinks some GG'ers have infiltrated our herb silos.

Well, if you don't choose the speed +1 pick, it is the case. More, mooser expanded anomaly have some nice anomalies with speed +1

speed +1 pick

its expensive pick, is it 5 ponts?! fot that i get 60 Diplo, 25 Luck, 10 Morality and 10 Economics(that all my picks)

mooser expanded anomaly have some nice anomalies with speed +1

ok, where is that?!

#180  by Diplomat Peace Phoenix - 9/17/2004 11:06:45 AM

Yes it is an expensive pick (5 points). but it worth it on gigantic map (especially for grabing stars right under the nose of the AIs). More, using the research.inc party can be very helpful

And have you tried this http://www.galciv.com/library.asp?LibID=6 Link ?

What, you're going to start marking off every post that's divisible by ten now?

No, I was going to say something else, but the the server seemed to hang and I left it and went to do something else.

Hey guys, if we are all going to talk about general things in one forum, let's start a thread in the General Forum so that those who don't usually look over here in the Empire forums can participate and maybe become interested in joining an empire.

Hi all. I have been more busy lately but aim for at least 1 game per week. Gee whiz, someone has to NOT join the Guardians if there are to be competing empires, right? .

It's worth it on small maps too. Your colony ships move three, the AI's move 2. That 50% speed boost means you won't have the AI camping out on your doorstep to start the game.

Hmmm, don't think anyone has joined us in quite a while. We are starting to feel unloved.

The fact of life when you are out front. Everyone is out to get you. No one loves a winner, just the underdogs. The Meta is a mixed up place. Join the winners and stay a winner. Join the underdogs and stay an underdog. If they were winners they wouldn't be underdogs.

Hmmm...I still like you guys.

I just hope that the "poor little" Aldarians don't get stepped on during the "clash of the titans".

well, I do not think we are a "titan" but we won't step on anyone as we climb the ladder and go by them. You always got to remember what goes up always comes down.

Welcome to the Empire Ric. This is a first for me (i.e. having someone join my Empire). Having the #7 guy in the verse is a significant addition.

Join the underdogs ... and pee on the winners!

good one Newfy, I never heard that one before

I have used Moser's Anomalies pack for the last 20 or so games. It's excellent for my style game as I get speed, sensors, and hit point bonuses. Very useful when conducting surgical strikes on the enemy.

i never heard about his packs, i think i am gonna enjoy it! I usually moded my games with new ships, Trade goods, and new buildings but never with anomalies... that should be fun!

Yes Attila, I am a fan of anomalies. In fact I use almost all of the bonuses from the anomalies. The one that gives you a bonus to Military production really adds up. WTG Moser
