Unfortunately, it has just disappeared into deep space.

Did you try resubmiting? Another player was having problems today when submitting a game. I someimes have to do it 2 or 3 times.

The servers were down this morning for several hours. My game this morning did not submit either, but I just resubmitted it and it rang up fine.

Have you upgraded to AP or to Totalgaming.net. Both have new SN that you must register from the Metaverse page along with you player name.

I know this sounds like rhetoric, but I'd give Carielf an email. She's helped me with my submissions before. Once I had to update galciv, even though my game was from the previous version. You may want to look at that.

I think the problem may be that my AP is not registered.
When I try to register it, it says the SN number they sent me in an email is not valid.
I 'copy and pasted' it.

I emailed support. So far just the automated response.

That is really strange since you were able to submit game for beta AP (version 1.49).

Still waiting for a reply from Stardock.

My vanilla Gal Civ is broken as well.
I downloaded some mods, including some new governments.
Now I can select the govenments but I cannot vary the choices.
Think I will have to uninstall the game and reinstall to get rid of the mods.

Are the mods in the mods folder? If it is the case, it should be easy to get rid of the mods.

But a complete reinstall could be useful.

BTW, I think to remember (but I could be wrong) that you have experienced problems when first trying to install AP.

I have had problems with everything to do with Stardock/Dregin, whatever.
They seem to have spent a lot of effort to make everything as difficult and complicated as possible.

This place is a bit quiet. Was everyone busy playing Galciv?

Yep

Mace I see you posted a game. Did it destroy your score With the scoring system you should start over. 60k games you'd pass yourself in no time. The alternative is watching your self yoyo your way across the Meta.

I disagree. Since he has now 572K, we can consider (for a few month) as if he is starting over with a base of 500K.

60k games you'd pass yourself in no time

It will depends on the submission rate. At one game per day, it will requires 2 full months to reach 600K.
But if he submits 1 60K game every day and keep the current score, he will reach 1 millions points before the 2 month are elapsed.

Well sure, just because you know what you talking about What about the empty block thingy It has retired alot of players do to frustration.

What about the empty block thingy

Sure Mace Grifin has near 3 empty block. But you must remember one thing: it isn't the empty block that is annoying. It is when block become empty since there is huge drop. Which is compensate by a big up when it become filled.

And this effect is really important on the 30 days blocks. (from 0 days to 150 days). Since the next 2 are 70 days blocks and the last one has no limits, if there are lots of empty blocks, it doesn't really matter WHEN the recalc has been made.

It has retired alot of players do to frustration

Are you thinking about Greldon, for example?
The frustation is due to various facts:
- empty blocks due to no-submission period, with rollercoaster effect
- aging when games went to older blocks (without taking in account the square root effect)
- the moving of games from 30 days blocks to 70 days blocks, which lead to great decrease in score due to square root effect
- drop in the submission rate, which can be desastrous when combined with previous items.

Sure, if you expect to recover in less than month when you have previously submitted lots of games, it is hard. If you don't try to fight against the metaverse math, it shouldn't frustate you. Just don't expect to recover 3 month with no games instead of 2 games per day in less than one month with only 1 game per day.

I did think about starting over and may still do so, but i'm not that bothered about my score (much ) so i may as well carry on for the time being.......

Good choice. It won't hurt you so much, since you haven't reached a very high position with lots of submissions per day

I think that is kinda true for me as well, but I started over anyhow. But I've somehow managed to clone myself. I've emailed CariElf about it, but I'm sure it will be a few days before it gets fixed. In the interim, I hold 2 postions in the top 25. I'm sure that is a first.
