Mace, your web site's lettering is overlapping itself when I view it. Is it possible I have a setting that needs to be changed in explorer?

Are there any outstanding contracts still to be concluded?

I don't think so. The latest was on J.T.Qwerk, and I have solved it

So we can take new contract

Ok contract taken. Start hunting posts from target from 10/19/2004 7:04:54 PM up to 10/21/2004 7:04:53 PM

No more contract available until elimination of the target by an IBH member or the end of the allowed time (10/21/2004 7:04:54 PM)

Currently nothing . The target still needs to be eliminated by an IBH member

Interesting I have a buddy who is a PHP programmer and I will ask him how hard it would be to make this into an online game for any PHP forum.

The confusing thing is who issues these contracts anyone? I saw Icho_Tolot issued this one right? I may have it backwards knowing me.

Anyone can issue a contract, if there isn't already an active contract.

At the time of this post, a contract is already active.

I see one small problem with this game. It encourages the targets to stay off the forums while they are a target. There should be some payoff for targets to post while being hunted, so they don't just stay away. After all, we want more people to post regularly, not less.

I agree. I don't see how to reward the target. Maybe in terminating who has issued the contract
But in this case, we could have 2 people stay off the forum

I agree, thats why I said that if a target eludes his assassin he should get the points that were posted. Perhaps he should get the points from the person who posted the contract and another 1/2 from the IBH.

The person should be required to post at least once per day during the 5 day period.

just a suggestion.

Good idea Newfy.. That would work but only if they coded it into the website. Otherwise someone could side step it by simply saying they missed the post.

At any rate it is a cool concept Stardock should build on it very unique!

If the target does not post at all during the contract period the score card will show them as having turned yellow and gone into hiding Would you want that next to your name?

A good concept and easy to keep a record of in a webpage. Something i think the final concept will have in it.

Idea. points move from the hunters purse to the targets with each sucessful post without termination.

50 point bounty goes down 10 points with each sucessful post. So if the hunted posts 5 sucessful posts he is free, or maybe 10 post at 5 points.

Nice idea, but perharps a bit difficult to track.
More, we need to prevent the person to flood a thread just to have the needed quota to be free.

10 post at 5 points

That should give enough opportunities

#123  by Citizen Evil Druid - 10/20/2004 5:03:17 PM

sequential posts would not count. At least one other persons post must seperate posts to count as seperate post so you just could not go 1, 2, 3,...

#124  by Veteran Cosmic Fox - 10/20/2004 5:53:50 PM

Mace Griffin I suggest maybe trying to code something into your forum code to handle this. My programmer tells me he can do it at my site. Just a thought one you may have tossed around already.

Your solution for people evading the contract is excellent. Maybe increase the bounty for a bit to make it more interesting before placing the name COWARD next to his name!
