Which is the heighest difficulty level where the AI doesn't get a head start AND they do not get higher bonuses than you?

Intelligent AI is on par.

How do you get troops to get on the troop transport?

When the transport is in the orbit of a star, click on that star. Than click on the transport on the right. Underneath should appear a bar where you can choose tha amount of troops. Use the mouse wheele for fine adjustment.

#54 by Citizen Sorry Guff YOU SUCK - 1/1/2005 11:35:52 AM Ah... well if you can move ships with the mouse, that's my ticket. I'll figure that out.

In case you haven't figured it out yet, you left click on a ship to activate it. move your mouse pointer to wherever you want the ship to go. The screen will scroll when you get to the edge of it. Right click where you want the ship to go and you'll get an icon. The ship will start moving immediately and will take as many turns as necessary to get there.

I'm also a late starter on this game. I guess I spent too long trying to like Moo3. If this game had Moo3's combat graphics, I'd probably never play another game ever again.

Question: I posted this elsewhere but I thought I would post here as well in case my other post got lost. Is there a mod that adds a civlopedia function, something where you can see what various techs do and what the various ships and social abilities do? Also is there a training campagin that anyone has made? Bought the game with the expansion pack and started on the altarian prophecy campagin and I am getting my butt kicked on the first mission....should I just start playing the normal game first to learn it?

For the techs/infos, you'd have to click throu the tech tree in your research window, sadly no one ever made an ingame civopedia

I think more info is needed damian, does your system meet the games requirements? What version are you playing with? Does this happen to any other of your games? Drivers, direct X version, etc. etc.

I got a new laptop with Windoze Vista. I want to continue a game I saved on my older Windows 2000 game. I found the saved game folder on Windows 2000, but on my new installation I can't find where to drop the saved game file. Anyone know where to look?

Potent3006...
For Windows ME, XP and such (so I assume it's that way on Vista too) in your program files file, if you have your game there:

C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCivUltimate\AltarianProphecy\Data\SaveGames

I have the Galactic Civilizations (Ultimate Edition) so your file name might be slightly different. Hopefully though, this will help lead you to your savegames file location, as it is likely that your savegames file is in a data file somewhere in your game.

Erm... why are you guys still playing GC1?

#87  by Citizen The Beastmaster - 3/8/2008 1:52:32 PM

I don't know about the others, but my computer is an older XP CPU. Athlon 1800, maximum Ram that the motherboard can handle is 1.5 GB, and as I recall, GC2 wanted 2 to 4 GB of RAM just for the swap file, as well as a dual core processor to get the most out of the A.I. routines.

No, that's incorrect!

Only a few of us have those duals, lol

I have an AWFUL computer at home, RAM like 1.2 gbs, and it runs GC2. Not super-well, but that's cause I like to play 15-year games in Immense galaxies.

You gotta get GC2!
