Oh, I meant 'you' plural. I have no particular grudge against you personally. When I finally crush you, it will mean no more to me than were I to step on an ant. I hope this is of some comfort to you.

Must be a Yor decendant.

Guys, great discussion about the Metaverse, save the bit about crushing each other and past problems.

About some people losing their scores, sometimes the Meta auto updates people, sometimes it doesn't. This can apply to decay and games lost due to time.

Sorry for going OT. Just needed to clear up that what happened to Shakaar is not the same as what happened to Loth and Renegade.

Um, if anyone cares, there is still the problem of losing games from the Metaverse logs. Back in August, I captured the first 4 pages of Metaverse (entries 1-100). I compared the August 1st Meta to todays (9/3) version (not exhaustively). Some of the players affected include:
Primipilus Alexus 265 - 260 = 5 games lost
Jaws 125 - 124 = 1 game lost
Doug Deagnon 40 - 39 = 1 game lost (I think I noted this in another thread)
Maxtipherous 45 - 44 = 1 game lost

I only checked a few so there are probably more. Spelling errors should be ignored.

My opinion is this, you can age my score however you want but don't remove my games esp. from the log. This is my opinion, I could be wrong.

At one time Jaws had 126 or 127. That was when he was on the top of the Meta.

Your opinion is never wrong. Other might not agree with it but it is still your opinion.

Weyr, thanks but that was an off-hand reference to Dennis Miller. He uses that phrase immediately following one of his rants. The more literal reference is "Of course, that is just my opinion, I could be wrong."

Hmmm...IMHO, daily recalculations seem a bit extreme.
If I had a vote, it would be for "once a week". That way the metaverse would have some stability but still have a reasonable amount of decay.

Hmmm, I just submitted a game and my score went up but the number of games played stayed the same. Any explanations?

Interesting I must a point to get on here everyday it or I miss all these great threads you guys post. Thanks.

I am reposting this information at my site. (Okay Peace Phoenix I have started to advertise. New users are coming who have not checked out Galciv. Interesting there are a few still, but this is my goal to expose as many people to galciv and space empires as I can. SEIV is not known by to many either.

a member of GROSS was accused of cheating as well. I think it was EBZeroMatrix,

He was certainly accused of using cheesy tactics. EBZ created the first "cranking" guide - basically how to play games "quickly".

I would perfer NOT to use cheesy tactics to win the game or play fast.

Aging is still a problem. I lost score after submitting two 60k games.

I know that this is normal and can happen. But others who don't submit anymore do not loose points for month.

Only active players do loose points.

Does anybody know if the Metaverse recalculation was a singular action or if it is done on a regular basis. And if so what is the period?
