I would like to purchase GalCiv, but what I'm wondering is, if I purchase the "CD" option, can I still go ahead and download it today (and have a serial number so I can play)? Also, when the CD comes, will it be in a normal retail package with guide book?

You should be able: as long as you have a serial ID, you can download the whole game
