Hello everyone, I'm new to GalCiv, having purchased and downloaded the game just yesterday. I thought I'd just drop in and say hello to everyone. Even though I'm in the middle of my first game, I've feel pretty confident this game won't be a disappointment like Master of Orion 3 was.
There is one question I have though, does GalCiv (not including AP) still get patched? I've noticed a few minor spelling and grammar mistakes (I tend to focus on little details) and was wondering if I should report them?
welcome aboard crusher! you'll find it's a great community here, although perhaps a little quiet with everyone testing the GC2 beta. make sure you check out the empires thread left. as for spelling mistakes, i'm not sure. they do intend to keep updating GC1, but parhaps with all the work on GC2 they might not get round to it at the moment....still can't hurt to email them through...
If you don't like to wait for spelling patches, you can edit most *.event, *.ship, *.anomaly, *.tech -files in the GalCiv/Data -folder with the notepad/editor or the GalCiv writer.
I just thought that by reporting things that could be fixed, I'd be contributing something to this game's community.
Every time I get hooked on a new game, I tell myself I'll pitch in, but I never seem to get around to doing it. I really need to break myself of that habit.

Understandable. It is just that Galciv II is now in development and Galciv I version is pretty stable, even if the latest patch (july 04) is still recorded as beta.
So you shouldn't expect to see a new patch. Galciv I is 2 year old and Stardock has only promised one year of free patchs and ehancements.
