I have an original game and I can't play with it. I'm very displeased. I bought the game Galactic Civilizations (here in Spain) and there's no serial number in the case. One friend bought the game and there wasn't any CD-Key too. The supplier of the game is Jaguar Entertainment. I would like to warn you that Jaguar Entertainment, Stategy First and Stardocks are selling games without CD-key. I've written to Stardock and Jaguar Entertainment telling my problem and nobody has answered to my mails. I want to express my deep disappointment with the indifference of Stardock and their suppliers with my problem and I wish to the members of the forum donīt have any trouble with any Stardock's game because the only answer of them will be the silence.

Well, if you buy the game directly from Stardock, you will get a serial ID.

I've written to Stardock

which e-mail? BTW, the problem isn't on Stardock but on Jaguar Entertainement: Stardock can't really do anything concerning the way Jaguar Entertainement handled the thing.

Well, you will surely have post in this forum explaining that your experience with Stardock is a very rare one. Generally, Stradock has a good track about customer relation.

I wish to the members of the forum donīt have any trouble with any Stardock's game because the only answer of them will be the silence.

Well, you have really a very unusual experience about Stardock and lots of people on this forum will explain you the same thing.

But what can Stardock do if Jaguar Entertainement screw things?

BTW, since the Serial ID is required to upload game to metaverse or get patches from Stardock, you really need to have a unique serial ID

Dear Peace Phoenix: (or should I say little Stardock's pet?)

I'm sure that Jaguar Entertainment is not selling the game without a contract with Stardock. Perhaps Stardock must be more careful with their suppliers. My problem is very simple. I paid for an original game. I have no CD-key. I can't play with the game. If you were in my shoes, I'm sure you would be angry. (And i'm still waiting an answer of Stardock. Jaguar Entertainment doesn't answer to my mails).

I won't be sure. In France, Nobilis, who was responsible of the translation into french, has a partnership with Strategy First. And it under this partnership that Galactic Civilization was available in France.

I have tried to search, but does Jaguar entertainement have a website?

And what was the e-mail at Stardock you have used for your complaint? (don't forget the time zone shift since they are located in USA).

And stardock handled only the english version. Translation in others languages isn't made by them. And this has lead to some pretty nasty bugs for the french version. Hopefully, Stardock has managed to correct some french files, allowing to reducing some crash thet were linked with faulty translated files.

Pergolesi.

I would advise caution in the words you use against persons here and against Stardock.

Perhaps Stardock must be more careful with their suppliers.

Perhaps you should be more careful of whom you buy from. Since Jaguar Entertainment is not answering your e-mails I would say that your main problem and the ultimate answer to your question has already been resolved, just not to your advantage.

This is a lesson that Stardock has already taken to heart. If you think Strategy First treats its customers badly, just imagine how they treat game developers, to whom they're actually supposed to pay money! Last I heard, Strategy First owed Stardock thousands and thousands of dollars. And Strategy First is in bankruptcy, so there's not much chance of Stardock seeing that money any time soon. Stardock will be publishing GalCiv2 themselves.

I've contacted Stardock three times before, and always gotten a response to my email within a day or two. This Monday is a holiday in the US, though.

Yes. Jaguar Entertainment has a Web page: www.jaguarentertainment.com. It distributes more games. It's a Swedish company.

I forget it...My Galactic Civilizations is the english version of the game. I write to Stardock to "Customer Service info@stardock.com Email"

I think you could also try support@stardock.com Email or sales@stardock.com Email.

But as stated by PJ, due to the holiday on monday and the various time zones, don't expect answer before wednesday

BTW, about serial ID, Strategy First managed to exchange the Galciv serial Id with the AP serial ID on the deluxe edition

Thank you for the e-mail address. I'll try to give to Stardock the serial number near the hole of the DVD like purchase evidence if they contact with me. I'll tell you...

I am sorry that no one responded to your original e-mail, but I believe that info@stardock.com isn't checked as often as support@stardock.com. You should receive a response soon if you've e-mailed support@stardock.com since then.  We have no control over which distributers Strategy First partners with to distribute the game in other countries and this is not the first time that they have let mistakes like this get by them, and we take the heat.

I want to express my gratitude to Stardock company for its help. I hope they forgive my previous words. I expect to be more lucky when I buy Galactic Civilizations II. Thank you very much!!

I want to express my gratitude to Stardock company for its help.

Does this means that you got a valid serial ID?

(or should I say little Stardock's pet?)

When you used the same tone in your mails, I'm not suprised that noone did answer you first time. It happened several times on my desk that customer requests (I don't tell you my company ) did get "lost".

I was so suprised about what they wrote that I accidently let them fall into the waste paper basked

Remember that the person who reads your mails has personal feelings, too.

I'm happy that there was finally a happy end for you.

I'm a bit of a letter writer myself when things go wrong, and I always make my point with humor. You'd be amazed at the positive response you get back. The person reading your words is not personally responsible for your troubles and you want them, to want to help you. Another trick is to find out who the president of the company is and address your letter to them personally. He may never read it, but it gets passed down from the boss’s office, and usually not to far down, and the person who gets it really wants to make you happy.

I did this with my local cable company and they treated me like gold. The lady who phoned me back personally, gave me her name and private number and told me to call her if I ever had a problem again, that it was her job to make me happy, and she would appreciate it if I did not write the president again.

i`m glad to see that things got fix it is one thing to have happy customers and have everything go right they are delighted and back you 100 % but when you have a unhappy customer it takes a little work to make them happy. and when they express that things got fix and then say they will try again that is cool. customer relation is as important as the game. with a good experience in both product and customer relation that seem to be harder to get, and most company seem only worry about the product and don`t care if you buy from
them again SO IT IS COOL THEY FIX THIS UP.
like i said i`m glad to see that Pergolesi is happier
now with the game !!
