Playing AP 1.52b.013. There are a couple of odd things wrong with it.

First, where is the Smuggling tech? AFAIK, AP has all the techs in GC 1.22 plus a couple more. Yet, I cannot research it even though I have the prerequisites: Trade tech and alignment of 30 or less (my alignment is 1

).

Second, the Barriers defensive module doesn't work. When I upgrade a starbase the description for Barriers says "String not found"

If I select Barriers anyway it does not change the defense value of the starbase at all.

I just uninstalled and reinstalled GC and AP (and the Multimedia pack) via Stardock Central and it made no difference, so it's not a corrupt install. Anyone else having these problems?

Did you have any mods installed? I have only just submitted my first ever (of 200+ games) at chaotic evil, so I can't say much about the smuggling thing. As to barriers, that sounds like a mod by Icho Tolot.

Please forgive me if my info is wrong, I am only playing one game a month right now. I really do wan't to help. Perhaps you could check with some of the other vets at...

No mods. Currently 100% stock. Barriers is the defense module you get when you research Shields.

I never heard of this problem. But I have no experience by myself since I'm always the good guy

Maybe one of the Siths lurking around here could tell us if they experienced this problem, too
