HI all

With this forum becoming less and less used i figured that there may still be a few people out there that have just purchased this game, are returning to it, or just have a technical issue. If you fall into the above criteria it can be very frustrating posting a message here and not hearing a response for a couple of days or so because we are all at the Galciv II forums.

So to make things faster for you, if you have a question regarding Galciv I please use the following points of reference to aid you in resolving your difficulties: -

I bought the game just this year. It came in a clear plastic case and the CD Key was pasted to the inside of the cover flyer. So open your case, lay it face up and carefully remove the cover page. You may find your key on the inside as I did.

I have a problem of my own. I had bought the deluxe edition off Amazon.com with Altarian prophecy, but when ever I click in map editor it closes the map editor! I can't do anything. Any ideas why?

You are off topic in this thread. Better start a new thread for questions like that.

Most common money problem are leases. i.e. don't buy anything, it's very expensive. Set the production slider to 100% and choose 100% military to get your ships build fast instead.

You get money via taxes and trade. With higher tax rates you get more money.

But how many you get depends on your population. Higher tax rates lead to lower approval (i.e. moral) and thus to a lower population growth. You start with 1000bc. Thus tweak your tax rate to the max where you still have 100% moral for the first year(s).

My son wants to play over the internet. How would I go about doing that? Is there any documentation on multiple player games?

There is no multi player for none of the GC versions. It might be a future extension for GC2, but I don't think that Stardock already has a decision on that. Otherwise GC3 might have it in a couple of years

All you have is a ranking called Metaverse. Once you finished a game you can submit it to get points for your ranking. You are asked if you want to submit it after a game ends when your computer is connected to the Internet at this point in time. You still can keep the EndGame.sav file and submit it later or from another computer if you like (just load it, press turn and follow the screens).

Separate Metaverses exist for both games.
