how do I play custom maps?

I recently started playing glactic civilizations, and would like to use some of the custom maps, but can't get them loaded.

one of the readme files says to put it in file folder custom maps, and choose galaxy size custom, but that dosent work, as there is no custom galaxy size, and there was no custom map directory, and it didnt help to create the directory and put the maps into it.

You need to have the Add-On Altarian Prophecy.
